Guided tour of the current exhibition

Home Stories: 100 Years, 20 Visionary Interiors 08.02.2020 – 23.08.2020 Our homes are an expression of the way we live, they shape our everyday routines and fundamentally affect our well-being. From February 2020, the Vitra Design Museum will present a major exhibition tracing the evolution of the contemporary private interior. Beginning with present-day issues such as dwindling urban space and the blurring of work-life boundaries, the exhibition takes visitors back in time: to the 1970s fashion for loft living, the shift from formal to informal living in the 1960s, the rise of household appliances in the 1950s, and the introduction of open-space planning in the 1920s. Twenty iconic interiors by architects including Assemble, Lina Bo Bardi, and Josef Frank, artists like Andy Warhol, Roland Penrose, and Lee Miller, as well as interior designers such as Elsie de Wolfe and Cecil Beaton will illustrate this fascinating narrative. Duration: approx. 60 minutes Tour fee: € 170.00, reduced € 140.00 , plus admission: € 9.00 Weekend and holiday surcharge: € 60.00 Group size: max. 20 persons
