Founded in 1870 in Alsace, Distillerie G.E. Massenez remains today one of the last family-owned firms dedicated to the production of traditional, top-quality eaux-de-vie (fruit brandies) and liquors. It is in fact this dedication to the ‘‘distillerie artisanale’’ which led Eugène Massenez to develop a formula for raspberry eau-de-vie and make it commercially available to an appreciate public worldwide. The distillation method is still a closely guarded family secret. Born in a family of distillers from father to son, G.E. Massenez with his exceptional savoir-faire continues with success the traditional art of distilling eaux de vie (fruit brandies) which is still particularly alive in the Villé region on Alsace in France. The distillation of high quality eaux-de-vie is not consistent with industrialization; thus Massenez has chosen to retain traditional methods. Only the best fruits are selected and stored in large fermentation vats prior to distillation. Following a careful and patient maturation over several years, the bottling is carried out. Uncompromising on quality, Massenez is today universally acclaimed for eaux-de-vie, such as wild Raspberry and Williams Pear, as well as for creams and liquors : Peach, Blackcurrant, etc. Massenez has won many awards at international exhibitions, including the world oscar for quality in 1980. These wonderful products are sold through the world, as 70% of the production is exported. MASSENEZ STORY CREAMS G.E Massenez has developed high quality creams, concentrating fruits, sugar and eau-de-vie. Their rich aroma makes them very versatile and they can be enjoyed neat, over ice, in cocktails or poured on ice creams, pastries, etc. All are ideally suited to prepare the traditional French apéritif ‘‘Kir’’ with white wine or champagne. EAUX-DE-VIE Fruit is the single raw material of French eaux-de-vie and its selection determines quality. Massenez story

CreaMs

G.E Massenez has developed high quality creams, concentrating fruits, sugar and eau-de-vie. Their rich aroma makes them very versatile and they can be enjoyed neat, over ice, in cocktails or poured on ice creams, pastries, etc. All are ideally suited to prepare the traditional French apéritif ‘‘Kir’’ with white wine or champagne.

eaux-de-Vie

Fruit is the single raw material of French eaux-de-vie and its selection determines quality. The aroma, flavour and delicacy of great eaux-de-vie depend heavily on the fruit and the distiller’s know-how is of utmost importance at this stage in order to select the best fruit. Fruit with stones or pips are placed in tanks for fermentation while berries must macerate in alcohol.

Icon of the MASSENEZ Brand, ‘‘Prisoner Pear’’ captivates with its olfactory and gustative qualities and the pear-shaped bottle with a whole pear inside.

The bottle is simply attached to the pear tree in flower…so the fruit develops inside the bottle. When it ripens, the fruit and the bottle are carefully detached.

Massenez CreaMs

Crème de Pêche (Peach Cream)

Massenez’s Peach Cream has remarkably subtle aromas and a delicate bouquet. A faithful reflexion on the smoothness of a peach.

Crème de Griotte (Morello Cherry Cream)

The characteristic features are its strong fleshy, greedy aromas. The sweetness of the fruit is perfectly balanced by a touch of stone acidity midpalate. An exeptional Cream.

Crème de Cassis de Dijon (Dijon Blackcurrant Cream)

Massenez’s Dijon Blackurrant Cream is known world-wide for its incomparable flavours . The smouthness and roundness of this Cream are the hallmark of quality of Massenez’s Creams.

Crème de Mûre (Blackberry Cream)

A richly flavoured, intensely fruity Blackberry Cream. The sweet nose carries over onto the palate which is also very sweet but harmoniously balanced by a touch of typical blackerry acidity.

Crème de Fraise des Bois (Wild Strawberry Cream)

Massenez’s Wild Strawberry Cream is one of those Creams where the fragile fruit contrasts with the intensity of its characteristic aromas. Beautiful harmony in a Cream chosen for its quality worldwide.

Crème de Gingembre (Ginger Cream)

An incomparable intensity, strength and elegance in this Ginger Cream. A nod to new trends with exoticism that flatters your senses, but above all, surprising flavor and strength.

Crème de Framboise (Raspberry Cream)

Raspberry, feminine by excellence is delicately revealed in Massenez’s Raspberry Cream. A fragile fruit which is so intense on the nose and the palate, that this Cream surprises the senses. An explosion of flavours!

Green apple LiquorThe freshness of the apples, their sweetness and their acidity stand out elegantly in this liquor.Massenez’s Liquor de Pomme Verte obtained the Silver Medal at the Selection Mondiale des Spiritueux Canada 2014 !

Massenez eaux-de-Vie

G.E. Massenez uses only selected, ripe, hand-picked fruits. Massenez Eaux-de-Vie are double distilled, thus intensifying the fruit character, the ‘‘heart’’, in the resulting distillate. Approximately 30 pounds of fruits are required to produce one bottle

of eau-de-vie. The final product is an impeccably clean, perfectly clear eighty-proof brandy, with a magnificient bouquet and intense taste of fruit.

Poire Williams (Pear Williams Eau-de-Vie)

Incredibly refined, concentrated and balanced. The intense nose is an indication of the quality of the selection of the original fruits and delicate distillation. Very fruity, long lasting and truly inviting bouquet. Massenez’s Williams Pear Eau-de-Vie ob-tained the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial des Spiritueux in Canada in 2011, 2012 and 2014.

Kirschwasser (Cherry Eau-de-Vie)

Outstandingly unique in character, strentgh and balance. The intense nose shows al-mond note. Very complex bouquet with primary aromas of fresh fruits mixing with secondary and tertiary aromas of fermentation and distillation.

Framboise Sauvage (Raspberry Eau-de-Vie)

Remarkable by its delicacy, refinement and balance. It is a subtle emotion that mirrors the fragility of Raspberry. Massenez’s Framboise Sauvage obtained the Gold Medal at Sélection Mondiale des Spiritueux Canada 2014 and the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial Bruxelles 2014.

Marc d’Alsace Gewürztraminer Eau-de-Vie (Grappa)

One of the only French brandies of controlled appellation. Powerful flavors, much of density and a very developed aroma, which very subjectivity expresses fruity noble grain of Gewürztraminer.

Mirabelle (Yellow Plum Eau-de-Vie)

Remarkable character, concentration and balance, 3 major organoleptic notes : Very subtle floral note of white flowers. Intense fruity note, initially of fresh fruit overlaid by ripe fruit, marmalade and jam. Very prominent spicy aftertaste underspinning the organoleptic profile.

Vieux Calvados (Apple Eau-de-Vie)

A golden color implying aromas of apple-cinnamon, cloves, pie crust, caramel and even hints of yellow pear. Dry with a subtle, elegant apple-cinnamon replay. Chill it slightly and serve it as a digestif, or enjoy it with fresh cinnamon scones or baked apples.
