Lots of plant seeds are excellent travelers! Dandelion seeds float far and wide on the wind! And maple seeds can fly! They have wings that help them twirl as they fall from the trees. See if you can find flying seeds where you live. If you can, hold one up and drop it to see if it spins on the way down. Or here’s a maple seed flyer you can make. Fold here. Use a jumbo paper clip for large seeds. Use a regular paper clip for small seeds. INSTRUCTIONS 1 Cut all around the outside of a maple seed flyer. 2 Fold the wings on the white dotted lines. Fold one wing toward you and the other away from you, so they point in opposite directions. 3 Insert the flyer into the paper clip. 4 Hold the top of the paper clip stem, and toss or drop the flyer. 2 Fold the wings on the white dotted lines. Fold one wing toward you and the other away from you, so they point in opposite directions.
