A fun me was had by all and I would like to thank the organising commiee for doing a fabulous job of seeking out items for the silent aucon and prizes for the night. You are a wonderful and commied group of people that just work so hard to benefit all the children in the school. It would be lovely to see more parents being willing to help the Parents and Friends commiee in the various events that they organise throughout the year. Please come and see us at the front office if you are able to help in any way and we can pass your details on to the commiee to contact you. PREP-2 SWIMMING: The swimming program has been very successful. The chil- dren are loving going to the pool and are enjoying the im- portant skill of learning to swim. Thank you to the parents that are able to help children at the pool. I know that the teachers are trying to teach the children some independence with geng dressed, however this takes some me. STAFF CARPARK: Just a reminder to parents that the staff car park is for STAFF only. It can be a very dangerous and busy place at mes and children should not be there. We do have it clearly marked on the front fence. We ask that NO children are in the car park at any me. Thank you all for your co-operaon in this maer. WORLD TEACHER’S DAY THIS FRIDAY: This Friday we celebrate World Teacher’s Day. It is a day that we acknowledge the wonderful job that the teachers do each and every day for your children. It would be lovely if you could ask your children to acknowledge the great job that their teacher does on Friday. SISTER SCHOOL VISIT AND PRINCIPAL FORUM IN CHINA: I have been very fortunate to have been invited to the Jiangsu Province Principal Forum and to visit our sister school in Lian- yungang in China to further build our relaonship. I will be aending from the 5th of November unl the 13th of Novem- ber, which means I will be absent from the school for a peri- od of one week. The Forum is designed to promote and es- tablish relaonships, collaboraon and partnerships between Jiangsu Province and internaonal educaon communies. This is a great opportunity to meet with other principals from around the world and talk with them about their sister school relaonships and their educaon systems. Have a wonderful week. PARENTS AND FRIENDS FUNDRAISING NEWS

We had a really great night at our Trivia night on Saturday night and made a profit of $2970!!! The OLC was a great venue for the night, attended by 54 parents, friends and staff. There was plenty of singing, dancing and lots of laughs!! The winning table for the night was the staff table! Well done staff, our kids are in great hands!! Thankyou to everyone who attended and to the Parents and Friends Committee for another suc-cessful fundraiser. Thanks also to all of the Businesses who donated items or vouchers for our silent auction. We really appreciate the support. Please have a look at all of the business logos attached. Extend OSHC at Grovedale Primary School Last week at After School Care we had a lot of fun creating different types of senso-ry tubs with sand, water and other materi-als. Our Cloud Dough mixture was enjoyed by the students who used it to make lots of different creations. Pokemon was a big theme this week with students using different techniques such as tracing, drawing and paper fold-ing to produce Pokemon pictures and bookmarks. SECOND HAND UNIFORM SHOP & LOST PROPERTY After many years, Kelli Caldow and Sally Hobbs will no long-er be running the second hand uniform shop and lost prop-erty. They will be finishing at the end of this year. We take this opportunity to thank them for their years of time and effort happily put into running the shop and wish them all the best for the future. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! If you have 30 minutes to spare each Tuesday afternoon from 3-3.30pm and would be interested in taking on this role next year, please come and speak to the office or have a chat to Kelli or Sally.
