BANDITS SPORT DESK
Eight Sr Boys Basketball teams from around the province, most of them 3A schools, visited Beaumont for our Annual “Garbage Eaters” Invitational tournament Jan 10/11. St Peter the Apostle was defeated by Stirling in a very exciting and intense final by a score of 86-84 in front of a full house. Many thanks to Mr Tschritter and Mr McIntyre, along with Mrs Chartrand for their work on the tourney. Also thanks to the Jr Boys for their help with scoretable duties and Bandits parents who stocked the Coaches’ room with food and drink. The Sr Girls won their Consolation final game at the SPA tourney and Sydney Morris was named one of the tournament all stars. Congrats girls! All teams are hitting exam week break with Sr Boys sitting at 2-3, Sr GIrls 2-4, Jr Boys 1-2, and Jr Girls at 2-2 in Metro League play. Stay tuned for the Optimist Showdown Feb 14/15 here in Beaumont. Our Mixed Curling kids finished 5-0 in Stage 2 play before Christmas break and begin Stage 3 in Feb at the Ottewell Club. Great start Bandits! Bandits wrestler Magnus McCrackin defeated all comers at the Golden Bear Open at the U of A in the 76 kilo category. Well done Mags! Logan Kennedy also captured the dual meet vs the U of C in the 61 kilo category. Awesome work! Take care of business on all exams Bandits! All league play starts back up on Feb 3.
GRAD 2020
The 2020 Salutatorian and Banquet MC’s will
be chosen by a student vote based on the
nominations received by Thursday, January
30. Salutatorian and Banquet MC Nomination
forms are now available for students on the
Grad Bulletin board.
Please ensure you have submitted the Grad
Gown google form survey emailed to
parents in November. Without this
information a gown will not be ordered for
your graduate, the pronunciation of their
name on stage may not be correct and the
information on their certificate may not be
what is preferred.
Auditions for ceremony entertainment will be
on Tuesday, February 4 after school.
Students must contact Mrs. Butler before
January 20 if they plan to audition. Audition
songs should be the song/musical piece that
will be presented at the grad ceremony.
Last call for baby photo submissions, please
have your child check their school gmail
account for information.
Grad Ceremony: Tuesday, May 19 at the
Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Grad Banquet: Saturday, June 27 at the
Leduc Recreation Center
LIBRARY & TEXTBOOKS
Just a reminder that all textbooks are
due back to the library on the morning
each student writes their exam. Novel
studies are due back in at the library on
January 20th, and library books are due
back in at the library on Friday, January
17th. We need these books back on time
in order to reissue them to students for
the following semester. Failure to return
books on time can potentially cause the
student who is late returning their books
to have their second semester books
temporarily held up. Please encourage
your child to return books on time, not
after the next semester begins. Thank
you.
