Kangaroo Safety

Mullaway Primary School is fortunate to be set in a lovelybushland environment and the sight of kangaroos in theplayground and on the bottom oval is a common one. Whilstour students are fortunate to be in such a natural setting, it isimportant that they are equipped with the knowledge and skillsaround kangaroo safety.

On Monday, March 4th, our kindergarten to year 2 studentshad the annual Kangaroo Safety visit from the National Parksand Wildlife Service.

Our students were provided with tips about knowing thewarning signs:

Students also learned the defensive position of dropping to theground and curling into a ball with hands protecting the faceand throat.

Year 6 Shirts

Our Year 6 students received their printed shirts this week, which they are proudly wearing.

Thank you to Mr Cheers for organising our 2019 Year 6 shirts!

Stewart House Envelope

Envelopes have been sent out to the youngeststudent’s thank you for your support.

Every year 1,700 public school children attend our safe havennext to Curl Curl beach at no cost to their parents or carers.During a 12 day stay they are provided with dental, optical, hearing and medical screening and treatment.

Children participate in educational programs and excursionsdesigned to develop their social and emotional skills, buildself-esteem and improve their overall well-being.

This experience provides children with a much needed breakfrom their current circumstance. Our children are inspired tosee beyond the present and to have real hope and positiveaspirations for their future.

Children in the care of Stewart House attend a specific purposeschool onsite for 8 days of their 12-day stay. The NSWDepartment of Education provides infrastructure and staffingsupport for this school.

All others costs associated with the childrens’ stay are met fromcharitable donations.

Returning Notes/Money

This Year we will be asking children to place their notes/payment in our Big Red Box in the foyer.

Below are some reminders for filling in and returning notes/payment:

PLEASE don’t forget your child’s name and class. Some dayswe may have up to four different note collections going on.

PLEASE return the note/money by the due date. We cannotensure your child will be able to participate in the event/excursion if permission is not received by the due date.

Please check Facebook/SZApp/Newsletter for UpcomingEvents. In 2019 the Newsletter will have the time and date thatnotes will need to be returned.

We are asking children/parents to place notes/money into ourRed Box in the foyer, so it is important that notes with paymentare placed in a clip lock bag or envelope.

School HatsCould you please make sure your child’s name is on his or herhat.

The best and most economical way is to have the nameembroidered on the back of the hat, preferably first Name andInitial of last name. This would cost approximately $6.00 perhat, considerably less than purchasing a new hat.

Alternatively, we can print labels on iron-on tape for you to ironon the back and inside of the hat. Please send $1 into the officein a zip lock bag and we print TWO labels for your child to takehome for you to iron on.
