NSW Curriculum Review Last week, the Premier announced some exciting improvements to the NSW school curriculum with changes to start in 2021, and all years learning the new curriculum by 2024. Some of the key improvements include:

• stronger foundations in literacy and numeracy with English and Maths syllabuses for Kindergarten to Year 2 by 2022

• priority will be given to essential knowledge, skills and understanding in each subject giving teachers time to focus on depth of learning

• building stronger foundations in the early years

• a stronger focus on teaching students to apply knowledge and become critical and creative thinkers who can effectively collaborate and communicate as curious learners.

Education Week – LEARNING TOGETHER

To celebrate Education Week this year, we would like to especially acknowledge our parents, carers and teachers, who unexpectedly had to shift gears and teach students remotely during the height of the COVID-19 crisis. Your support and involvement in the remote learning program demonstrated the commitment of our strong home-school partnership, and the students are truly grateful for this.

Unfortunately, parents will not be allowed onsite to enjoy Education Week this year, however, we would like to invite parents to watch a short video posted on the school's website at the start of the week, and join us in a Seesaw learning activity with your child's class. We hope to see you soon face to face. Lawrence Yu, Sarah Campbell and Jacinta Fryer (Education Week Coordinators)
