To Whom It May Concern, The 7th annual Emergency Services Mega Bash event is being run again on Saturday 20 January 2018 at Gannon’s Park, Isaak St, Peakhurst. All profits are being donated to Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. (Authority to Fundraise # 1202787) The Emergency Services Mega Bash is a community event for the emergency service agencies, their families, friends and colleagues. Its aim is to not only raise awareness, but to raise money for further research into child related health issues and further assist families during such crisis. Our goal is to continue to help save lives and raise money for an exceptional cause, it’s also a chance for all emergency services to come together in a relaxed, community environment to have a bit of fun. The event itself is a round robin cricket tournament played amongst teams from the NSW emergency services: Police, Ambulance, Fire & Rescue, State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service. Although the cricket may not be of a representative standard, the efforts put in on the field is worthy of watching and supporting. The event runs all day and we would greatly appreciate if you could advertise the event in your newsletters, website or whatever means you use for communications in your organisation so we can reach as many of the community as possible and encourage them to attend the event throughout the day. It’s more than cricket: We will also have static displays and demonstrations throughout the day using various emergency service vehicles and equipment, incorporating a festival style atmosphere open to our community, whilst building comradery between the personnel of the emergency services. There will also be amusement rides running all day for the kids, food stalls and community information tents from various services. A Silent Auction, will also run until the completion of the last match of the day with some great memorabilia such signed & framed cricket bats, sports jerseys and more. On the day: The tournament will commence with the first ball being bowled at 9am sharp. The day is full of spills and giggles and we will have a prize for the "best dressed team"!! Throughout the day, we will host free skills clinics for children – these include 9.30am cricket (run by Cricket NSW ); 10.45am rugby union (run by NSW Waratahs); and 12pm rugby league (run by NRL). A celebrity signing session at 1pm followed by a celebrity cricket match at 2pm. This will feature current and former stars and have included Australian & International cricketers, Olympians, Ironwomen, Triathletes, former NRL, AFL and Socceroo greats & players and media personalities, just to mention a few!! Sponsors include Network Ten, Macquarie Media (2GB/2UE), First State Super, Employers Mutual Management, Sutherland Liquor Accord and Police Association of NSW. Could you please assist the organising committee by promoting / circulating this information throughout your network. By doing this it will not only go to ensuring another successful day, it will also provide family entertainment in the holiday period but raise much needed funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide Regards Dave Hayes 2018 Mega Bash Organising Committee
