Tonight we have a very special school activity, which our senior students are looking forward to our Year 7 Graduation. Our graduation evening is an opportunity to farewell this group of students. We wish the best for all of our year 7 students who are moving on to high school next year. We hope that the skills and knowledge they have developed in their years at Reidy Park Primary School will provide them with a good foundation to realise their full potential. A special thank you to the families that are finishing their association with Reidy Park Primary School at the end of 2020. We greatly appreciate your support and contribution to our school.

Tomorrow all students will have the opportunity to visit the class that they will be placed in for next year. Much planning and consideration goes toward the development of classes, including facilitating friendship choices where possible. This transition visit is both an exciting and anxious time for our students and we will provide support for them where needed. Students may come home expressing reservations or concerns about their placement; please use this as a chance to talk to your child about how ‘change’ can feel awkward initially, the importance of being resilient and recognising that a new class will bring opportunities for developing new friendships. These are all positive life experiences for our students that will benefit them as they develop into young adults. A note will be sent home with your child on Friday that indicates their classroom number and teacher.

Your child’s end of year report has been sent home today and details their achievement against the Australian Curriculum. If you have any queries about the information provided in the report, please contact your child’s class teacher.

The cash office will be open for uniform sales prior to the commencement of Term 1 2021.

The dates and times are as follows: Wednesday 20th January 9am - 3pm Thursday 21st January 9am - 3pm

Thank you to all the parent volunteers who have assisted this year with the canteen pick up from Mulga Street Primary School. Without your continued support this service could not go ahead. The canteen service will continue in term 1, 2021. Please note this will begin in week 2.

In the week 8 assembly we celebrated some of our Junior Primary students who have been showing great perseverance and hard work with learning their sight words in term 4.

Congratulations to: James B and Katie W from Room 15 Aylah H and Aleisha W from Room 16 Alissa A and Bailey T from Room 20 Ava L and Daly S from Room 21 Oakley H and Kiron A from Room 22 Maya H and Aletheia M from Room 23 Lewis N and Tyler Mc from Room 24 Ted K and Stella M from Room 25

The Year 7s went to Noorla Yo Long for their end of year celebration.

The students were pushed out of their comfort zone and into the groan zone (!) before they found their growth zone, doing climbs and team tasks they didn't at first believe they could do!

We had a wonderful day on Friday and the weather was on our side. The students were dressed up in their colours and gave their all. We started the day off with the championship sprints and saw some amazing individual performances. Students then participated in the various activities around the school. We ended the day with relays and the students celebrated a win against the teachers in the baton relay. Our winning team for 2020 was Lava.
