Building Works Update We are excited to see work commencing on the installation of our new shade
structures over the playground area this week after a slight delay, resulting in a large
section of our playground being blocked off for the last few weeks. It is expected that
the playground will be fully opened again in the next few weeks for student use once
installation is completed.
Demolition of the old north building was completed during the holidays, and final
designs for the new building are currently being finalised before construction
commences. We are looking forward to moving into our beautiful new building later in
the year!
Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea and Craft Session We are excited to welcome mothers and the special women in our Glengala PS family
for a special Afternoon Tea and Craft session this Friday, May 10th. Thank you to all
who returned their RSVP slip earlier this week for this event.
NAPLAN - Year 3 and 5 Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will be participating in NAPLAN testing over the next
two weeks. All students will complete four tests during this time, in reading, writing,
conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. Please keep
in mind that these tests provide only a snapshot of your child’s learning in specific areas,
and do not capture your child’s passions and interests, their kindness and compassion
or their dreams for the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please Sam F or
myself.
Election BBQ - Saturday 18th May Glengala PS will be a polling place for the upcoming Federal Election on Saturday, May
18th. Polling will take place in our LLC. We will be holding a sausage sizzle fundraiser on
the day. If you can spare any time to volunteer for the sausage sizzle on the day, please
contact the office via email [email protected], by phone 9311 7810 or drop
in between 8:30am and 4:30pm and complete the sign-up sheet.
School Tours and Enrolments Tours for families interested in enrolling their child at our school in 2020 have begun!
Please contact the office via email [email protected], by phone 9311 7810
to book a place. Information sessions for families with children starting Foundation
(Prep) in 2020 will be held on Monday May, 13 at 9.30am and 6.30pm. Please book with
the office.
Please do not hesitate to call, email or come and chat with Kris, Sam F or myself if you
have any questions, feedback or need support from the school. Have a great week!
