Safe Neighborhood Bureau Monthly Report December 2019
December 2019: The month of December was one of many communitygatherings and holiday festivities for the SNB. We also gained additionalfollowers and engagements on our social media pages. On Facebookparticularly, compared to the month prior, our total page views were up 62% andour post engagement was up 66%.
December 2: SNB participated in the “Community of Lights” event to promotesupport services such as Woman Space for victims of Domestic and SexualViolence. We lined the municipal steps with luminaries as symbols of hope forthese such victims.
December 3: SNB presented at the Elm Court community room for residents ofElm Court and Harriet Bryan House. The presentation was on Senior Safetytopics and included a Q&A session.
December 5: SNB attended the year-end Princeton Alcohol and Drug Alliancemeeting. This was Ptl. Abdul-Karim’s last meeting as the PADA alliance chair.
December 9: SNB hosted a “Crime Q&A” session at the Princeton High School. December 16-20: SNB taught five 7th grade health classes “Alcohol Awareness”
at John Witherspoon Middle School over the course of four days. December 16: SNB met with administrators at St. Paul’s School for a preliminary
safety assessment. December 16-20: SNB held a successful toy drive for Ptl. Donnelly’s
organization, “Let’s Be Heroes”. All proceeds went to children hospitalized overthe holidays. The organization’s members disseminated the toys to the childrenwhile dressed as superheroes.
December 19: SNB attended a Hanukkah celebration at Palmer Square hostedby members of The Jewish Center of Princeton.
December 23: SNB gave a police escort for the “Menorah Parade” on PalmerSquare.
December 31: SNB concluded a second coat drive. Due to its great receptionlast month, SNB hosted another successful winter garment drive.
Other activities of note:
SNB performed 25 school crossings, 4 school details, 21 vacant house checks, and conducted three additional community-policing activities. SNB officers assisted PPD patrols as backup on 17 calls for service and were primary officers on 23 calls for service. SNB officers also made two motor vehicle stops, conducted one traffic detail, and installed 11 child safety seats for community members. SNB officers also wrote and served 21 alarm summonses.

Juvenile Report December 2019
Juvenile Petitioned to Family Court
A fourteen year old boy was charged with Simple Assault and Cyber Harassment after he was found to have punched a fourteen year old boy in his head and neck. He later sent a Snapchat threatening the victim stating he was going to do it again.
A seventeen year old boy was charged with Possession of CDS (THC Oil under 5 grams), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Minor in Possession of Alcohol and for a violation of local Princeton Ordinance 16-6(l), Being in a Park after hours.
A seventeen year old boy was charged with Possession of CDS (THC Oil under 5 grams) after he was found to have two THC Oil cartridges in his backpack.
DCP&P Referrals
Subsequent to a Domestic Violence incident DCP&P was notified due to a two year old boy being present. DCP&P is investigating.
