What’s Happening at Primos?
MATH: Delaware County Sumdog Contest
From October 19th through October 25th there was a Delaware County Sumdog Contest. Several Primos’ homerooms entered this contest. Aronimink Elementary School seemed to be occupying top spaces on the leader board, so it was time for Primos’ students to show their GRIT, and we did just that!!! Three Primos’ homerooms, 5th Grade Room 219, 3rd Grade Room 118, and 5th Grade room 217, made the Delaware County top 10-leader board!!!! 5th Grade Room 217 placed 1st in Upper Darby School District and 3rd in Delaware County. Salieu Jalloh placed 2nd in Delaware County by answering 956 out of 1000 questions correctly. Jorge Fernandez placed 5th in in Delaware County by answering 946 out of 1000 questions correctly. WE ARE PRIMOS PROUD!!!
ART
Third grade students made pumpkins inspired by Yayoi Kusama. Students first made drawings of large pumpkins. They then created various patterns in each section of their pumpkins. Yayoi Kusama is referred to as the “polka dot queen,” and her pumpkins feature polka dots. After adding their patterns students used chalk pastel to add color to their pumpkin. Using the chalk pastel allowed students the ability to shade light and dark areas and make the pumpkin look three-dimensional. Students also used chalk pastel to color the background; they blended colors and made patterns! I am so impressed with third grades ability to use a new material and make some beautiful artwork!

5TH GRADE SCIENCE IS THE BEST!
BY: DAMIAN JAMIL WODARSKI
Have you ever thought about how people make cars? Right now in Science class the 5th Grade is studying Motion and Design. We are making and using blueprints to build cars. Today Rafi and I had to make a car that had to travel 39 inches in just 20 minutes. When we started we had a lot of parts and we knew it would be a challenge. We knew if we took our time, were confident and tried our best we would succeed. We made two cars and both went passed the 39-inch mark. We worked like engineers! I can’t wait to see what our next challenge will be! 5th Grade Science is the BEST!
Walk Out on Drugs
By Skylar Rothley and Hindowa Jengo
Throughout Red Ribbon Week we remember having so much fun! WE remember Crazy Hat and Sock Day, because we are drug free from head to toe. Our favorite day of Red Ribbon Week was Pajama Day; we also enjoyed bringing in canned goods for needy families.
Hindowa writes that the whole entire school went outside chanting, “Say no to drugs!” While outside, Skylar won a prize for participating in the poster contest, she won a homework pass and gets to pick a doughnut for breakfast! After the Poster Awards were given out and the fifth graders presented a poem about being drug-free, the entire school had a dance party! While the music played loudly, Hindowa remembers flossing with his classmates!
Student Council Representative Meeting @ 8:20, Wednesday December 12th
Celebrating Together This is our way of celebrating together as a Primos family. If you would like to share news about a current or

Skylar Rothley, a third grader, played for the Llanerch Hills Softball Team this past summer. Her team made it to the State Championships. The team finished in 4th place in the state. Their record was 10-1.
Skylar played third base. Her coach said she was the best third baseman on the team.

A big "Thank You," to 5th Grade band members who performed in our Walk Out On Drugs Parade! Also, how about those 5th Grade drummers, who performed the Street Beat for the Halloween Parade? What a great job! The Winter Concert is Monday, December 17th, 7:00 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.
