Reneged flying over the line to win on Friday
Hold on Blake Shinn!!!
It is going to be hard to beat this photo as the racing photo of the year. It is of Reneged winning at the
Sunshine Coast on Friday from Trackside Photography. The horse was jumping the shadow of the
winning post and well done to Blake Shinn for staying aboard. Reneged is a 3/4 brother to Champion
sprinter Bufering and now heads to the Queensland Guineas. The programming for three year olds
heading to the Guineas left a lot to be disired and we didn’t want to run him at 1600m then 1350m and
then back to 1600m.
The decision to run him at 1600m at the Sunshine Coast proved the right one although I didn’t expect
to have a jumper come through the race.

EAGLE FARM
Let’s hope the heavy rain predicted for Friday and Saturday at Eagle Farm doesn’t eventuate. I feel
for the officials in Queensland. They have been waiting a long time for the State’s premier track to
reopen and the last thing they need is for it to be trashed at the first meeting back.
We have Awasita running in the Listed Lightning Handicap. This talented mare hasn’t got black type
but gets her chance on Saturday in a Lightning that probably isn’t as strong as in previous years.
Good luck to her and her connections.
ON THE TRACK
The weather is likely to have a big bearing on where our horses run over the next week. Heavy rain is
predicted from Sydney through to Brisbane over the next few days. Newcastle had 40ml last night.
This afternoon sees More Than A Rose running at Doomben. This will be an emotional race for many
of our clients with part owners Anne Wilkinson and Mick Moloney passing away recently. These two
great people were Prime clients since the late 1990’s and will be missed. On Friday we have Shining
Brooke and The Wasp down to run and Awasita on Saturday. On Monday Ankara Lass is set to make
her debut. There are plenty of excited ladies in this filly.
MICHELLE PAYNE
I spoke with Michelle Payne’s sister Theresa Patton this morning and Michelle is slowly improving.
She is expected to be in hospital for another couple of weeks and on the positive side has shown some
improvement over the past couple of days. She was lucky the injuries could have been much worse.
STABLE VISIT JOHN MOLONEY
We will be having visit to John Moloney’s Stable on Sunday 3 July 2016 with light refreshments
provided. All our clients are invited to meet John and his staff and more information will be available
as we get closer.
The SAJC Sire’s Produce Stakes winner Flying Jess, Maldicion and the Sebring filly I purchased for
John should be at the stable.
John has a had great run recently and consistently punches above his weight.

MAGIC MILLIONS NATIONAL SALE
Anyone who doubted the strength of our industry only has to look at the results of the Magic Millions
National Sale currently being conducted at the Gold Coast.
The weanling section was as strong as I have ever seen with many of the weanlings bringing yearling
prices. This points to a very strong sales season next year.
Of interest to Prime Thoroughbreds was the Hinchinbrook filly out of Reve de Victoire that went for
$200,000. She is a ¾ sister to Strike for Victory.
The progeny of I Am Invincible continued to be well found with a top price of $250,000. It certainly
makes my three I Am Invincible 2yo fillies look great value.
I will be attending the yearling sale from Sunday.
NATIONAL JOCKEY’S TRUST LUNCHEON
Over the past few days we certainly have been reminded of the dangerous job being a jockey can be
with bad falls in NSW and Victoria. It probably hit home a bit more for many of our owners with
Michelle Payne being injured in a bad fall at Mildura.
I spoke with Patrick Payne last night and Michelle was resting after undergoing surgery to repair her
pancreas.
I certainly recommend you attend the National jockey’s Trust Luncheon on 19 July as a mark of your
appreciation for the job the jockeys do for us.
The National Jockey’s Trust do a great job raising funds to help jockeys and their families who are
doing it tough through injury or in some cases where the rider was killed in an accident. There is no
more dangerous profession that being a jockey and the risk their lives each time they ride one of our
horses.
The Trust conducts several functions each year to raise funds and their annual luncheon is being held
at Caulfield on 19 July at a cost of $195 per head.
If you wish to attend please forward your attendance with the number of tickets you require to:

HINCHINBROOK FILLY FROM VERY GOOD FEMALE LINE
Hinchinbrook filly out of Kiss ‘n Chase 2014
John Thompson to train at Randwick
10 shares @ $7,900 each
The filly
This filly is a strong nicely balanced athlete that gets around well and has a real presence about her.
She is very strong behind and through the hocks which is a characteristic of the progeny of
Hinchinbrook.
She vetted out without any issues and was reared at Yarraman Park one of Australia’s most well
respected boutique nurseries.
The filly is at the breakers and will head to John for her first preparation after a four week spell once
she has finished breaking.
Hinchinbrook
After I inspected the yearlings by the first season sires in 2013 I made the prediction that
Page 6
Hinchinbrook would be Australia’s leading first season sire. He didn’t let me down winning the title
in a field of over 50 contenders for the title. This was a wonderful effort considering the horse didn’t
serve a big book of mares and stood at a modest fee.
A lot of the credit for his success goes to the team at Yarraman Park. The farm consistently punches
above its weight with the yearlings coming off the farm setting the benchmark across our industry. It
should be remembered Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible won the title in the previous season.
In winning the title Hinchinbrook not only got early runners but high class juveniles including the
Group 1 winner Press Statement, our filly and Group 3 winner Flying Jess, multiple stakes winner
Flippant and stakes winners Samara Dancer and the unbeaten filly Whispering Brook.
The success he enjoyed in his 1st season has continued on with him clearly leading the 2
nd Season
Sire’s Title with his progeny earning almost double that of his nearest rival.
Hinchinbrook’s conversion rate of winners to stakes winners is exceptional with 14.6% of his
winners converting up to stakes winners. This compares with Fastnet Rock 12.6%, Snitzel, Street
Cry12.8%, Written Tycoon 4.8% and Not A Single Doubt 8%.
Hinchinbrook was a top class juvenile winning the Group III AJC Skyline Stakes and Listed
Canonbury Stakes before being the first colt home when fourth to Crystal Lily in the Group I STC
Golden Slipper and was then third in the Group I AJC Sires Produce Stakes.
He then trained on at three for Group I placings in the AJC All Aged Stakes, MRC Oakleigh Plate and
MVRC William Reid Stakes, before being injured in the UK while preparing for Royal Ascot and
retiring with earnings in excess of $590,000.
He is a three-quarter brother to leading young sire Snitzel and Group III winner Viennese by
champion sire Fastnet Rock from stakes-winning sprinter Snippets’ Lass.
Snippet’s Lass was the best mare trained by Bill Mitchell while I was with him and had one of the
very best pedigrees in Australia. While she was only small in stature she was big on quality and had a
heart as big as herself.
I have been very big supporter of Hinchinbrook and have three two year old fillies at various stages of
their development as well as two three year olds including Shining Brooke who is being prepared for
the Spring Carnival. Hinchinbrook really impresses me and during my visits to the Hunter over the
past few months I have left each time with the feeling that he is going to be a great success at stud. I
can’t get enough of them!!!
Kiss ‘n Chase
Kiss ‘n Chase is by Red Ransom whose daughters when crossed with Danehill line sires being very
good. Some of the horses with this cross include Roll Out The Carpet, Red Ruler, Vavasour,
Vilanova, Ovidio, Chance By, Secret Agenda, Reparations and Cape Kidnappers.
Kiss ‘n Chase was a good race mare winning four races and running 4th in the Listed AJC HB Carr
Stakes. She is a full sister to Kick ‘n Chase a winner of 4 races with $$252,540 in stakes earnings.
Page 7
Kiss ‘n Chase’s first foal is by Northern Meteor and heading to John Size in Hong Kong. He recently
won a trial and the information we are getting is that he has very good ability. The 2nd
also by
Northern Meteor is trained by Laurie Mayfield Smith and he reports he is very happy with her.
The first four dams on this page have had 22 foals race for 19 winners.
I am really looking forward to this filly racing and feel I purchased her well under the odds.
OUTSTANDING HUSSONET FILLY OUT OF STAKES WINNING MARE
TONY GOLLAN TO TRAIN
Hussonet – Miss Piggy Bank
10 shares @ $7,500 each (5% shares @ $3,750)
The filly
This is a very attractive filly. He is well grown, has a deep girth, beautiful head and great hindquarter.
The moment I inspected her in Adelaide I was certain I would purchase her provided she vetted out
without any issues. This was the case and a vet report is enclosed in this package.
I have had wonderful success with Hussonet’s daughters. In all I have syndicated three with all
getting to the races. Hijack Hussy was a stakes winner at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day
and Huiskes was a two year old stakes winner. Hussy’s Glow was stakes placed recently in the
Page 8
TTC Gold Sovereign stakes. In total Hussonet has had 1011 foals to race with 96 stakes winners
(9.5%) and a further 79 stakes placed (7.8%). For us to purchase three fillies with 2 stakes winners
(66%) and a further stakes placed is a remarkable effort.
Hussonet (USA)
Hussonet (USA) is one of the very best sires to have stood in Australia in the past decade with his
progeny including the outstanding Weekend Hussler, Husson, Wild Spirit, Host, Eagle Falls, Gold
Trail and Reaan being some of his 30 Group 1 winners. In total he has had 96 stakes winners
including our very good fillies Hijack Hussy and Huiskes. I was also the under bidder on the Stakes
winning Hussonet filly Member’s Joy.
It is important to plan ahead. Hussonet’s daughters are now well sought after broodmares with good
results being achieved crossing them with the many sons and grandsons of Danehill we have standing
at stud in Australia. Hussonet and his sons are also working in reverse with Danehill line mares.
Hijack Hussy is the result of this potent cross.
Hopefully this filly can follow the racetrack success of Hijack Hussy, Huiskes and Hussy’s Glow and
secures a future for herself at stud after her racing career is completed. Hussonet has jumped from
173rd
to 20th in only his 3
rd season on the broodmare list in Australia. The best known of the runners
out of his daughters is the Blue Diamond winner Extreme Choice. Hussonet came to Australia as a
relatively old horse from a stud perspective but has had a remarkable impact here.
Miss Piggy Bank
Miss Piggy Bank is by the successful sire Secret Savings and was a nice race mare winning twice and
being stakes placed. She comes from a very successful family with the first four dams producing 21
to race for 17 individual winners. I love buying out of families where there is a Champion mare on
the page. This is the case here with the 4th dam Par Excellance being the top filly on the 1979
Canadian 2YO Free Handicap.
Miss Piggy Bank has had one to foal to race with it winning 11 races.
Hijack Hussy winning at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day!!!
