Crow Farm Commitment to Excellence
Crow Farm is a 365 acre working farm that has been in the Crow family for 3 generations. In 2008 Roy & Judy Crow developed a business plan that outlined a variety of changes for the farming operation. Their commitment to transform the farm would allow opportunities to sustain the family farm for generations to come. In 2009 they renovated the 1847 family farm house to create Crow Farmstay B&B. The farmstay allowed for the opportunity to bring folks to the farm so they could experience firsthand the farming operations that include corn production, grass-fed Angus beef, a small flock of chickens, hay and other grains that are used to sustain the animals on the farm.
In 2010, the Crows, as pioneers in rural Kent County, saw the vision that growing grapes was something that would fit well with our overall business plan. They hired their son, Brandon Hoy, as the Vineyard Manager. With attention to quality grape growing Crow Farm now has a 11.5 acre vineyard. They believe the quality dry premium wines are created first in the vineyard with the personal attention of many hands and talented skilled staff.
Under the direction of John Levenberg, winemaker consultant, the Crow’s built a state of the art winery and developed protocols for creating award winning premium style wines. Aspiring to conserve and preserve the farm, the Crow’s made renovations that included using existing farming structures to make way for the winery and tasting room. In 2017 Michael Zollo was hired as the full-time winemaker.
The Crows are committed to ensuring that the public has an opportunity to see firsthand via agrotourism the strengths and challenges of farming. Their commitment to quality winemaking has led them to win a variety of medals for their wines. They take pride in all aspects of their farming business including grape growing, making wine and welcoming the public.
Farmstay Bed & BreakfastUnique Farmstay bed and breakfast inn, located on a 365 acre farm. Choose from 3 bedrooms, each with a private bath in our newly renovated energy efficient 1847 farm house. Enjoy modern amenities within a primitive farm charm.
Grass-Fed Angus BeefOur beef is raised hormone and antibiotic free, hand processed in a local family owned, USDA inspected facility, and for sale in the Tasting Room. We also take orders for larger quantities of beef and individual cuts.
Winery and Tasting RoomEnjoy our Crow Wines in the Tasting Room which is a renovated milk house and then tour our Winery to learn about Maryland grape growing practices and the making of dry style wine. We now offer a Wine Club.
