The Paralympic Values are based on the history of the Paralympic Games and the tradition of fair play and honourable sports competition. Some say that in this particular competition the values are even more important than in any other.

The Paralympic Values are:Determination – the drive and motivation to overcome both physical and mental barriers in order to achieve your goals.Courage – having the self-belief and confidence to overcome adversity and face difficulty.Equality – showing respect and humility towards all those around you in the spirit of fair play.Inspiration – to be motivated by the achievements and actions of others and to be a positive example to others.

Paralympic AnthemThe Paralympic Anthem, also known as

the Paralympic Hymn, is played when the Paralympic Flag is raised. It is a musical piece, "Hymn de l’Avenir" (en. "Anthem of the Future") composed by Thierry Darnis. The anthem was approved by the IPC in March 1996.

Australian country singer Graeme Connors wrote the lyrics for the anthem in 2001.

The Road to Happiness (Paralympic anthem)

How hard is it to choose the path Where to look and whom to go. How often pain, anguish and fear, Change the world in your eyes. When easy answers to be found immediately.

We look up, but pulls down Who is on the throne, who encore. Who haste, who slowly, Hand to hand, soul to soul. And above the sky put a little whimsy.

We are looking at the stars, love is never too late. Believe that everything happens, we'll help you.

Chorus: Find your way to happiness, life, soul open. Go through the storms and bad weather, and cold and heat through. Smile when your house will love. Do not turn your back, and then the world will change. Forever.
