III. Network InformationNetworks allow us to connect to, learn from, and initiate collaborative actions with each other to generate creative and effective solutions.
*What role(s) do you typically play in organizations or networks? Please rank up to three choices. Again, there are no “right” answers.
Other people look to me to resolve difficult problems, especially when there are conflicts.
I find myself providing direction on alternative paths that can be taken – pros and cons, why and why not.
Once a direction has been chosen, I am the one that will put the details together and manage the project.
I am the historian and the storyteller, the keeper of institutional knowledge and community struggles.
I create big ideas and ways to do the work.
My role is to fight for and give voice to individuals and/or ideas.
In a paragraph, tell us about a collaborative relationship that has been transformative in your work. Who was it with? What characteristics made it so?
How did you hear about this initiative? Check all that apply:

We seek to spark and strengthen relationships between innovative leaders in the movement as the basis for powerful, networked movement leadership. Please help us to map current relationships in the field by telling us about the Movement Makers of previous cohorts with whom you have relationships, and whether you would characterize those relationships as informal exchanges (e.g. you share information on events, campaigns, programs, and/or services and/or occasionally connect on strategies and best practice) or formal collaborations (e.g. you work together, participate in the same coalition or network, have presented at summits and conferences together, and/or collaborate on advocacy efforts).
Do not be discouraged if you don’t have relationships with any of the Movement Makers listed below. In network theory, those on the periphery of this network are likely to be a source of innovative ideas and to bridge with other networks, which supports Move to End Violence’s goal of broadening the U.S. movement to end violence against girls and women. Additionally, we see everyone who applies as part of the Move to End Violence community, and we want to take this as an opportunity to map our connections to strengthen our collective power.

I understand that participants may be asked to share responsibility for leadership by facilitating certain portions of convenings or intersession work and commit to doing so.
I commit to doing light preparatory or planning work for convenings and will engage with my peers between sessions as appropriate to advance our work.
I understand that I am being selected to help build a powerful movement for social change, which includes the responsibility to engage others. I commit to sharing my learnings from Move to End Violence with my organization and the broader movement, via updates at staff meetings, introduction of new practices, conference presentations, blogs and other mechanisms. I will work one-on-one with my coach to develop plans for doing so.
I will regularly engage with MEV’s evaluation partner Social Policy Research Associates to help us assess program quality and impact.
Organizational Commitments
