PREVENTIVE EDUCATION AND

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

On June 1, 2017 this Office attended in the special consultation and orientation

meeting of DELTA 5 Watchdog headed by Hon. Allan Butch T. Francisco, Coun-

cilor of District 5 Quezon City HELD AT THE Quezon City Library, Quezon City

Hall, Compound. The group intends to support this Regional Office and will serve

as force multiplier in the anti drug initiatives especially in the District 5 of Quezon

City.

Order Council Meeting which revolve

on the discussion of the implementa-

tion of the Community Based Reha-

bilitation Program for the NCR.

On June 1, 2017 this Office attended in the special consultation and orientation

A joint meeting of Peace and Order Council and Anti Drug Abuse Council of Muntinlupa was

held on June 7, 2017 at the Audio Visual Room of Muntinlupa City Hall. This Office was in-

vited to participate in the meeting and tasked to discuss the initiative of this Agency pertain-

ing the clearing of the barangays. C, Intelligence discussed during the meeting the imple-

mentation of Barangay Drug Clearing Operations.

On June 8, 2017, this Office attended the City of Manila anti Drug abuse

Council Meeting held at the Manila City Hall. This Office discussed

the roles of MADAC in the Barangay Drug Clearing Program to the

attendees of the meeting which composed of Barangay Chairmen,

Manila PNP and personnel from the Manila City Local Government.

On June 13, 2017, the Philippine Council of NGOs Against Drug and

Substance Abuse (PHILCADSA) together with the Pasig City Health

Department conducted a forum entitled “The Youth and Drug abuse

Prevention” held at Youth Development Center, Rainforest Park,

Maybunga, Pasig City. This Office provided lecture on the National

Drug Situation and Salient Provisions of RA 9165 to the attendees

composed of teachers from different schools in the Pasig City, per-

sonnel from the Pasig City Drug Testing Center and representative

from various youth and anti drug advocacy centered organizations.

The City of Valenzuela conducted a leadership and team building program on

June June 16-18, 2017, held at Bahay Bakasyunan, Iba, Zambales. The

event, which was labeled “One Team, One Goal, was attended the the

Punong Barangays and Kagawads of the City. This Office was invited to

grace the event and provided a message of solidarity during the plenary ac-

tivities and sessions.

On June 19, 2017, the Malabon City con-

ducted a Workshop on Barangay Drug

Clearing Program for the Punong Barangays

and BADAC Councils, Kagawads and Ex

Officios of the City. The workshop intends to

intensify the knowledge of the BADAC of the

city in their anti drug efforts. This Office pro-

vided lecture on Barangay Drug Clearing

Operations and other important topics rela-

tive to the conduct of drug clearing program.

On June 20, 2017, the Valenzuela City Anti Drug Abuse Council

conducted a community based activity and information drive

called “Tokhang on Wheels held at Barangay Dalandanan,

Valenzuela City. The activity aims to encourage those who are

drug dependents or someone in their family that are dependent

to drugs to be processed for treatment and rehabilitation

through their one-stop processing system. This Office provided

support on the processing of the surrenderees who availed the

services provided by the Valenzuela City Anti Drug Abuse

Council.

Series of Drug Abuse Prevention and Education was conducted by

this Office in partnership with the Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse

and Advisory Council (QCADAAC). On June 23, 2017, this Of-

fice provided lectures on the most commonly violated provi-

sions of RA9165 to the residents, officers of mandated organi-

zations, teachers and students of Judge Juan Luna Highschool,

out of school youth and drug user returnees of Brgy Veterans,

Quezon City. Also, on June 24, 2017 same discussion was also

provided to the Drug Abuse Prevention and Education Activity

of Barangay Damayan, Quezon City. Attendees of the said

event are youths of the barangay.

Coinciding to the 26th founding anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology

(BJMP), an anti-drug advocacy event was conducted by the bureau dubbed as “Sayaw Kon-

tra Droga Iwas Kulungan” on June 23, 2017 held at Roxas Boulevard. Manila City. Dance en-

thusiast from BJMP, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Navy and Philippine Marines joined

the zumba dance session. After the dance session, a coastal clean up drive immediately fol-

lowed. Participants of the event was tasked to clean the shores along the stretch of Roxas

Boulevard.

In observance of the International Day Against Drug abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking (IDADAIT). This Re-gional Office in partnership with STI Muñoz-Edsa conducted a whole day Youth Forum on Anti Drugs on July 27, 2017. Participants of the event are the students and instructors of the institution. The fo-rum aims to raise awareness on the dangers of drugs to the youth and how they may be able to be-come advocates in the campaign against it.

On June 30, 2017, the Valenzuela Anti Drug Abuse Council in collaboration with this Regional Office held an After Care and Reintegration Session wherein the patients who successfully undergone series of intervention from the Community Based Rehab Pro-gram of the City was placed in a cell group session. This Office supported the activity by giving out challenge talk to the participants of the event.

Also on June 30, 2017, this Office also attended the the Caloocan City’s 5th Men’s Congress with this year’s theme “Oca’y Sigla Pag walang Droga” held at the Bulwagang Katipunan of Caloocan City Hall. This Office provided lecture on the Baran-gay Clearing Operations to the participants of the vent com-posed of the City’s elected Offi-cials and officers of mandated organizations.

On June 26 - 30, 2017, the Philippine Drug Enforce-ment Agency and Danger-ous Drugs Board conduct-ed a training entitled “Continuing Seminar on Anti Illegal Drugs Opera-tions and Investigation held at the Conference Room of National irrigation Authority. This Office was tasked to provide series of seminars relating to the ini-tiatives of the Agency in battling illegal drugs and impart knowledge on intel-ligence, investigation and operative matters to the participants of the training which mainly composed of Police Officers of National Capital Region and Agents of PDEA NCR as well
