Turning Point for McCoy Turning Point for McCoy RealizationRealizationDuring the Interaction with McCoy,

Stephan said that the case with sadhu is a good example of breakdown between the individual ethic and corporate ethic.

This is when McCoy recollected the entire experience and started regretting about their behavior towards Sadhu.

The Individual VS Group The Individual VS Group ethicethicBusiness Ethic is to follow the business as

well as the cultural goals of the corporation its owners, its employees and its customers

A leader is the person who understands, interprets and manages the corporate value system

Effective managers are often action oriented resolve conflict, stress and change and have a strong sense of purpose for themselves and the organization

On the mountain the group did not choose the lower path because they did not have a coordination

Learning's from the caseLearning's from the case

In a complex Corporate culture situation the Individual requires and deserves the support of the group

Individuals who operate from a thoughtful set of personal values provide the foundation of a corporate culture

Page 11: Pressure & Temptation sadhu case

In contrast to philosophy business involves action and implementation getting things done, managers must come up with answers based on what they see and what they allow to influence their decision making

Problem with the group on the mountain: no process for developing consensus they had no plan

The group acted instinctively as individuals and the cross culture nature of the group added complexity. No leader to identify with

McCoy still reflects: its amazing how quickly an outsider to an organization can sense the tone of the organization and to what degree there is tolerance to challenge management.

Because corporation and their members are interdependent members need to share a preconceived notion behavior – a business ethic.

Page 13: Pressure & Temptation sadhu case

McCoy still feels guilty about it and asks himself questions:

Isn't Stress the real test for corporate and Personal Values

Is there a collective or institutional ethic that differs from the ethics of the individual?

At what level of commitment can one discharge one’s responsibility?

Page 14: Pressure & Temptation sadhu case

SuggestionsSuggestionsEthics are not just visible at the

corporate level but are equally important down the line at the individual level.

Care, Planning and risk taking ability play a crucial role at any given situation.

Managers should not run from the situations in spite of being in stress

Managers should be very quick in taking decisions and implementing them accordingly
