yep!’s 4th Annual Kickball Tournament to kick cash

into the coffers of local non-profit Stairways

ERIE, PA (July 16, 2007) — Young Erie Professionals (yep!) will hold its 4th Annual

Kickball Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 8:00 a.m. at Community Park in

Harborcreek. “The Kickball Tournament is a signature event for yep! and an

excellent way for young professionals to make a positive impact in our community

while having fun,” states Matt Wiertel, a Velocity.Net employee and yep! Steering

Committee member. A total of 144 young professionals comprising 12 co-ed teams

will face-off.

Not only does the yep! Kickball Tournament move this recreational activity from the

playground to the playing field, the competition also benefits a local non-profit

organization. yep! will donate partial proceeds from this year’s event to Stairways

Behavioral Health. Scott Nick, an employee of J.L. Nick & Associates and past

competitor, calls the yep! Kickball Tournament “certainly the premier fundraising

event by young professionals in the area.” Players pay a nominal fee to participate

and sponsors also contribute. Major sponsors to date for this year’s competition

include: Rick Weaver Buick, Lincoln Metal, and Sprint.

In addition, the yep! Kickball Tournament gives the area’s twenty- and thirty-

somethings a chance to meet and network outside of work. Nick looks forward to "a

day of fun, sun, music, and a generally great social atmosphere." Wiertel agrees,

saying that the event “provides a great opportunity to interact with friends and

peers.” The participation fee includes food, entertainment, and a post-game party.
