Press Release For Immediate Release Discover Thai Taste Buffet Makes a Show-stopping Comeback to The Mira’s Yamm With Modernist Renditions of Old-school Family Style Dishes from Bangkok’s Baan 10 March 2017, Hong Kong: This April, just in time for Songkran, “Discover Thai Taste” buffet returns to Yamm with a galore of authentic Thai cuisine by the hotel restaurant’s Thai Sous Chef Danita Srisuwan and signature dishes from Baan restaurant co-owned by one of Bangkok‘s leading Thai chefs Thitid Tassanakajohn, who also spearheads the trendy fine dining Le Du, recently listed #37 among Asia’s Best 50 Restaurants. Baan’s treasured family-style recipes will be brought to Hong Kong by a couple of special guests: Chaisiri Tassanakajohn, Co-Owner and General Manager of Baan, and the restaurant’s Head Chef, Samlee Chaiyota, present at Yamm exclusively from 5 – 8 April. The first 4 days of the event will be graced by traditional Thai dance performers adding charm to the seasonal spread running until 23 April at lunch time in celebration of the much anticipated Thai New Year festival. At Baan, Chef Thitid retreats from the modernist culinary techniques he has mastered in New York’s Michelin-starred restaurants including Eleven Madison Park and Jean Georges, in favor of homey, everyday Thai meals. Co-owned by his younger brother, Chaisiri Tassanakajohn, Baan dishes out unpretentious food, made with sustainably sourced local ingredients from trusted growers, which prove that chic, high-quality dining can be delivered at pocket-friendly prices. As part of Yamm’s deliciously fresh Thai spread Guest Chef Chaiyota will serve four fragrant dishes including Baan’s signature Massaman Curry, 5 Spices Egg & Pork Belly, Jasmine Fried Rice with Seafood Tom Yum, and Minced Dry Aged Beef Salad. Yamm’s resident and much accomplished Thai Sous Chef Danita completes the celebratory offering with a range of authentic recipes of nourishing savory and sweet delights extending far beyond the culinary hotspot of the capital City of Angels and your familiar Phad Thai or Som Tum. Expect lip- smacking carving of BBQ Pork Neck served with Spicy Tamarind Sauce (Kor Moo Yang); Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts Marinated in Chef’s Secret Recipe (Gai Phad Med Mamuang); Green Wrapped Mackerel with Thai Herbs and Special Sauce (Maing Pla Too); a southern specialty of Stir-fried Shrimp with Shrimp Paste and Parkia Seed (Goong Phad Kapi); and one of the northern Thai style staples Spicy Poached Pork & Baby Jackfruit Salad (Tum Ka Nun Moo). No respectful Thai dining showcase would ever be complete without exotic desserts such as satisfying Rice Berry Pudding with Longan (Koa Pirk Lam Yai) or the Sweet Charcoal Pudding with Salty Coconut (Ka Nom Pirk Poon).
