Este explora a dimenso relacionalentreArteeReligioetodaaproblemticaqueestaspoderosuscitar.Partindodeumlugar iconolgico Mosteiro-, com umaenormecargaemotivanosreligiosa,masigualmentesocial,culturaloupoltica;tentaexpurgarafontequesintetizaestefervor,einsere-se na problemtica que estesassuntos trazem baila, entre pessoas erituais, prticas e doutrinas, mantendo ospossveisconflitosentreasrealidadeslocaisqueseprojetamanvelglobal.Aconstantenegociao entre local e global, entre

estranho e familiar, tem-se tornado umacondio base da modernidade (JeanFisher,1992).Assim,ofocoprimordialdesteprojeto criar novas formas dequestionamento e reenquadramento dasquestes que substanciam o Ser na suanatureza devota, de forma a erguer umaconscincia prpria relativamente sestruturasdepoderdareligioedoculto.No contexto estruturado das normasassumidastradicionalmentenasociedade,

impe-se o evidenciar o paralelo entreobedincia e transgresso e o conflitoresultante das prticas que violam e

subvertemodogmareligioso.O programa em questo materializa-se emduas componentes: expositivae plataformadiscursiva. Ambas procuram potenciar aproduo de conhecimento, atravs daconfrontaodeinterpretaes,memriasetestemunhos; atravs da recriao, darevisitao e reformulao dos contedosevangelizadores,quer danarrativa,querdaimagtica. Por outro lado, confronta-se noparadoxo, no excesso, no manipulvel, nopoder, na demanda e na propaganda, osentidodoculto,osprocessosredentorese

ascticos face imperfeio e incapacidadedeserfiel.Aexposiodarenfoqueproduoartsticaqueabordaasdiferentes problemticas que, de algummodo, se relacionam ou se aproximam doconceito que se organiza entre a arte e areligio;entreaarteeoser,entreaarteeosagrado, entre a arte e o profano, entre aartee oproibido,entreaarteeos homensouentreaarteeosdeuses.

This project explores the relationaldimensionbetween ArtandReligion andtheseveralproblematics thatmightarisefromit,whilemaintainingitselfconsciousaboutthe surroundingterritory,notonlytoitsaudiencewithitsparticularsocial,religionandpoliticalcontexts,butalsoto

the monastery itself, which reflects thearchitecture and memorys heritages ofthePortuguesesociety.This monastery end ups on carrying notonlythememoriesofBraga'ssociety,butalso the Catholicisms evolution andpoweraroundtheglobe,sinceitwasoneofbiggestsupplierofmissionariesforthePortugueseexpansionismsendeavour.Asa result, this project has its source in aplace with an enormous load, not onlyreligious but also social, cultural,economic and political memory.

Nevertheless, this project tries to purgethesourcethatsynthesizesthistraditionalreligious fervour,and inserts itself in theproblematicthattheseissuesbringtolife,betweenpeopleandrituals,practicesanddoctrines, maintaining the possibleconfrontationsbetweenthelocalrealitiesthat develop global repercussions. Theconstant negotiation between the localand the global, the foreign and thefamiliar,hasbecomeabasicconditionofmodernity(JeanFisher,1992).

Therefore, the core of this project is tocreate new ways of questioning andreframingtheissuesthatsubstantiatetheSelf-beingin itsdevotednature, inordertoraiseaself-conscienceofthereflectingand shifting power structures of religionandcult.Inthestructuredcontextofthe

norms traditionally accepted in oursociety, it uncovers theparallel betweenobedience and transgression, and theresultingconflictofthedifferentpracticesthat breach and subvert the religiousdogma.The program is question, materializesitself in two components, an exhibitionand a discursive platform. Both seek tomaximizetheproductionofknowledgebyconfronting, in terms of interpretations,memoriesandtestimonials,byrecreating,revisitingandreformulatingthecontents,

whether narrative or imagery. On theother hand, there is a confrontationwithin the paradox of the excess, themanipulative, the power, the quest andthepropaganda,ofthesenseofthecult,with its processes of redemption, ratherasceticswhenfacingtheimperfectionandthe incapacity of being faithful. Thisexhibition will focus on the artisticproduction that grasps the differentproblematicsthat,inanyway,connectorapproach the concept that articulatesitself between art and religion, between

theartandsocietyandartandreligion..
