FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Miss Malaysia Tourism Visits to “The Lighthouse Children Welfare Home” 29.05.2016 – The Lighthouse Children’s Welfare Home is a registered charity which began 11 years’ ago. It is a safe home for 54 vulnerable children, but what makes it different from regular charitable institutions, is that it is a family run home. The children live with the Lighthouse founders, Jacinta Steven, who provide a nurturing and secure environment. The focus is raising the children in a loving, family-orientated, home, with every effort made to keep siblings together. Last Sunday, D’Touch International’s Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant beauty queens visited the home, for an afternoon of bonding as well as to supply the workbooks sponsored by Pelangi Publishing Group and art products such as Colored & Watercolor EcoPencils sponsored by Faber Castell in an effort to bring the gift of knowledge to underprivileged children. The visitors, led by a group of former Miss Malaysia included Zoee Tan: Miss Malaysia Queen of Tourism, Joanne Chan: Miss Malaysia Tourism, Lim Sui Pei: Miss Malaysia Asia Pacific and Joey Ong: Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan together with the organizing team spent two hours activities at the centre. It was a joyful sight as faces of the children lit up with smiles during the interactive sessions with the Miss Malaysia. A colouring contest were held during the visitation and the whole event brimmed with the atmosphere of happiness and harmony. With the vision to spread the spirit of “Loving Sunday” this CSR Campaign along with D’Touch International’s Miss Malaysia will set the last Sunday of every month with a mission to provide “Gift of Knowledge”. The Miss Malaysia Beauty Queens will put their effort in spending time on visits to set up book shelves and donating books to the charitable homes to encourage reading. This campaign will also see the beauty queens promoting education and knowledge with activities like reading session or outdoor educational tour.
