This proof of concept demonstrated how high capacity networks can now be deployed using an alternate method to traditional trenching in the most non-intrusive, and environmentally friendly manner. This first Microduct installation was completed and donated to the City and County of Honolulu in an effort to further promote this revolutionary technology. The network was completed within the business day and connected high-speed fiber optic communications between the Honolulu Medical Examiners Building and the City Department of Health building in downtown Honolulu. The team consisted of a coordinated effort between City CIO Gordon Bruce, Edward Sun, President of Sun Global LLC and the generous donation and expertise from Lite Access Technology, Bering Sea Eccotech, and Total Control Solutions. Sun Global is the exclusive Hawaii-Asia-Pacific Distributor for this product from Lite Access Technology. According to Sun, “The Microduct and air blown fiber technology provides substantial cost savings in deployment, reduced interruption of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and meets security standards for non- trenching environments around government buildings. It also provides quick installation for Fiber-To- The Building (FTTB) or Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) and was designed as an air and water tight system that can easily support future growth demands” “Mayor Hannemann has put a high priority of the use of technology and this trench-less method for installing fiber optic networks demonstrated flexibility when it comes to network deployments,”. The Microduct and air blown fiber solution will satisfy this immediate application at the Department of Health location. We appreciate this gift to the City and County of Honolulu” stated Gordon Bruce, Director Department of Information Technology and CIO Pictured (From Left): Dennis Page, Ed Sun, Peter Yuen, Tony Velasco, for the City and County of Honolulu. connectivity. This proof of concept demonstrated how high capacity networks can now be deployed

using an alternate method to traditional trenching in the most non-intrusive, and environmentally

friendly manner.

This first Microduct installation was completed and donated to the City and County of Honolulu in an

effort to further promote this revolutionary technology. The network was completed within the business

day and connected high-speed fiber optic communications between the Honolulu Medical Examiners

Building and the City Department of Health building in downtown Honolulu.

The team consisted of a coordinated effort between City CIO Gordon Bruce, Edward Sun, President of

Sun Global LLC and the generous donation and expertise from Lite Access Technology, Bering Sea

Eccotech, and Total Control Solutions. Sun Global is the exclusive Hawaii-Asia-Pacific Distributor for

this product from Lite Access Technology.

According to Sun, “The Microduct and air blown fiber technology provides substantial cost savings in

deployment, reduced interruption of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and meets security standards for non-

trenching environments around government buildings. It also provides quick installation for Fiber-To-

The Building (FTTB) or Fiber-To-The-Home

(FTTH) and was designed as an air and water

tight system that can easily support future

growth demands”

“Mayor Hannemann has put a high priority of

the use of technology and this trench-less

method for installing fiber optic networks

demonstrated flexibility when it comes to

network deployments,”. The Microduct and air

blown fiber solution will satisfy this immediate

application at the Department of Health location.

We appreciate this gift to the City and County of
