The Capri has lodged an application for some dosh with Fund My Neighbourhood to install a wheelchair lift into the auditorium and an accessible loo for our differently abled mates. “We receive calls on a weekly basis regarding accessibility and it’s embarrassing to say that we are not equipped and awful to realise the amount of people who aren’t able to enjoy this nostalgic entertainment gem,” says Rob Jordan, the General Manager. Fund My Neighbourhood is a $40 million program that invites local residents to vote for projects to improve their local neighbourhood. VOTE HERE: goo.gl/hbeXN3 Voting closes at 5pm on Monday the 20 th of November. The Capri is an independent not-for-profit cinema run by a network of generous volunteers. Built in 1941, it is heritage listed and houses the Theatre Organ Society’s unique world class theatre pipe organ. They play the latest movies and the profit from every ticket bought goes back into the restoration of this iconic South Australian building and the WurliTzer organ.
