Press Release: -For immediate release24 Families find hope in new Habitat -Habitat for Humanity’s plan will provide 24 families with a life chang-

ing experience. (Denver, CO – October 2009)This January Habitat for Humanity will break-ground on a new community development project in Denver. The Bails Town-home plan will provide 24 families with an affordable and respectful housing option in the Glendale community. The non-profit organization has built over 300,000 homes worldwide and builds 35-45 in the Denver metro area annually, providing low-income families with a foot in the door opportunity. The focus is to promote strong communities while developing an economically efficient living in cooperation with families in need.

The plan strategically locates and houses these families with every expense in consideration. With energy costs and living expenses rising, Habitat for Humanity took an economically friendly approach in there Bails project.

This will be their first Transportation Oriented Development, or “T.O.D.” Habitat for Humanity realized the high priority of rising fuel cost and countered them by constructing the development within walking distance of the light rail system. Just one of the many perks these home owners will enjoy.

Habitat for Humanity is a recipient of the Enterprise Community Partners’ Green Communities Grant. This enables and motivates them to implement a number of green strategies into their homes. This integration is designed to reduce the damaging impacts of water pollution, air qual-ity, and the depletion of natural resources while providing a lower operational and maintenance cost in their homes.

Habitat Home mortgages make up just one quarter of the homeowners income and Habitat for Humanity offers 0% interest on their loans. They work with families to create a financial plan that is affordable for them while placing them in a suitable community and living conditions. The Bails Town-home project will do exactly this for 24 families when it breaks ground in January of 2010 in the Glendale community.
