PREMIèRE VISION PARIS: AN INITIATOR OF NEw AND ExCLUSIVE FASHION INFORMATION

Beyond its offer of products and materials, beyond the services proposed at its shows, Première Vision aims to provide new and exclusive fashion information to all its visitors, and this has been true since its inception.

Acclaimed by industry professionals, these seasonal inspirations and colour and material directions are unique in their genre. They are unparalleled in the world of professional trade shows thanks to their richness and pertinence, as well in the way this information is conveyed.

Updated and newly adapted tools, redesigned informational forums, fashion seminars specifically developed by the Première Vision

teams...Starting last September, the show organiser has sought to lend greater visibility to the general seasonal inspirations shared by the 6 activity sectors that make up Première Vision Paris, while keeping an emphasis on their fashion know-hows and inspirational specificities. These changes are sustained and strengthened this edition.

A DEDICATED FASHION TEAM, AN INTERNATIONAL OBSERVATORY OF CREATIVE MATERIALS

In order to present relevant, high-quality fashion information and seasonal directions in line with industry realities and tailored to the multiplicity of international markets, Première Vision has an expert internal fashion team that works each season to elaborate fashion directions and inspirations that are effectively diverse and different as well as complementary.

This team, which stays in constant touch with Première Vision show exhibitors, who number among the most influential companies in fashion, is an important observation post onto the most creative and innovative side of the industry. To give an idea, some 20,000 fabrics pass through the hands of this fashion team each season.

International buyers’ surveys, on-going analysis and brainstorming meetings with an international panel of influential industry professionals (industrialists, brands, fashion personalities, etc.) round out the work done by the in-house fashion experts.

What emerges from these many discussions about colour and fabric trends is then translated into directions and inspirations developed and showcased via films, documents and digital tools, as well as in dedicated areas at the shows.

PREMIèRE VISION PARIS: THE SPRING SUMMER 17 SEASON

In addition to the seasonal information and inspirations specifically developed for each activity sector featured at the Première Vision Paris shows, the Première Vision fashion team also provides general inspirations, directions and choices - shared fashion information cutting across all the spring summer 17 shows.

The spring summer 17 season blossoms with joyous dissonance. It loves the fruitful disharmonies arising from inventiveness and alliances of ambiguous genres. It has fun with the rudimentary, refining it with discreet technology and magnificent poetry. It electrifies romantic delicacy with contradictory stridency, random bumpiness, and dynamic tension. It plays with limits, placing the beauty of diversity above all - dazzling, transparent and imposing. It invests in experimentation, giving matter and volume to a new, fluid and friendly reality. It looks positively on shaky balances, nimbly attracting creation and impertinence.

>> The heart of the season, all the latest updates and analyses and exhibitors’ new products and developments can all be discovered in the attached documents created by the fashion team, in the Fashion Live section of the website www.premierevision.com, and at each of the forums at the February show.

The show of clothing fabrics presents a season introduced in 3 themes - rudimentary refinement, gently irreverent, and experimental romanticism.

Seeking new balances, spring summer 17 plays on positive, creative instabilities, and moves lightly and light-heartedly away from well-established codes and standardisation. Fabrics and colours are ever more particular and multi-sensory, emerging as caring partners ready to convey differentiation, and communicate emotion. The season feeds on surprising combinations and suggests irreverent, mildly disconcerting unions, to create slightly wonky lines or nicely unmatched silhouettes. A strongly singular, and inherently appealing, season.

RUDIMENTARY REFINEMENT Getting to the essence of fabrics and shape and cultivating fashion with a powerful, vibrant and colourful beauty. Singling out the imperfection that makes all the difference that upends the too perfect and lends excitement to the simplicity of volumes. Combining a raw look and a deep-down sophistication. Intensifying the sensual side of fabrics, the natural or synthetic raw handles and bold visuals. Composing alliances by mixing thickness and delicacy, decisive encounters between rusticity and artificiality.

GENTLY IRREVERENT Composing a chic wardrobe with a healthy dose of impertinence, gleefully overturning the classics. Forming alliances between genres, mischievously blurring masculine/feminine notions. Inviting a new instability into cuts, dramatically altering shapes, making lines slip and slide, introducing asymmetry.

Transposing decoration onto a tailored and casual universe, freely reinventing exoticism, and playing with a funny and likeable exuberance, on the very edges of good taste.

ExPERIMENTAL ROMANTICISM Balancing science and poetry, breathing emotion into technique, sensuality into motion, to create graceful fashions with a sporty DNA. Embellishing and softening performance. Imagining alliances between everyday and sexy, imagining a match of comfort and charm. Capturing bright ideas, being on the outlook for curious and improbable innovations, laying the groundwork for an intelligent and sensitive future.

‘Beauty, my beautiful concern...’ François de Malherbe. This beautiful line from François de Malherbe, chosen as the epigraph of the Spring-Summer 17 season at Première Vision Leather, portrays worry as a positive value and underlines the fragility and instability of beauty.

The flower, that fragile, ephemeral and perfect incarnation of Beauty, will be the link between the four contradictory and complementary Beauties showcased on the Première Vision Leather Trends Gallery.

BROODING BEAUTY ‘Do you come from Heaven or rise from the abyss,’ - Charles Baudelaire Magnificent flowers, overly-radiant, powerful fragrances, wild and mystical romanticism. Created by the spirit world, under shamanic influence, colours and materials become one, violent and bewitching.Materials are rich and swollen with sap, gleaming and voluminous. Materials are wild and full. Summer suede, bird feathers, matt reptiles, wrinkled buffalo. Deep colours. Raw red, crushed red, burnt brown, solarized white, mediumistic or shamanic black.

SUBSIDIARY BEAUTY ‘True beauty is so particular, so new, that we are unable to recognize it.’ - Marcel Proust A kitsch delicacy evocative of Jacques Tati. The 1950s and 1970s combine, creating a borderline aesthetic. A joyfully shabbiness, where plastic and PVC are hyper-luxurious, where that crumpled vinyl of an indefinable colour is in fact dipped lamb...Acidic, artificial and assonant colours, blended in a milk-shake.

CONVULSIVE BEAUTY ‘Beauty will be convulsive or will not be at all’ - André Breton Upsetting, malevolent, frightening flowers. A deconstructed, aggressive, iconoclastic, sleazy, ambiguous, imperfect beauty. Shattered, deformed, shaken, mistreated, lacerated materials.Colours that go against the grain, dissonant, paradoxical, chaotic: wonky yellow, raucous pink, fighting green, transgender blue.

PRECARIOUS BEAUTY ‘The forms disappeared and were no more than a dream,’ - Charles Baudelaire An evanescent, unstable beauty, ready to disappear in a cloud of sand. Flowers exist in suspended animation, a sublime moment between magnificence and disappearance. It brings to mind the naive primitives of Miquel Barcelò, the outlines of the flowers drawn in charcoal, and the impossible bouquets of Herman De Vries. Materials are crumbly, unstable, soft to the touch or slightly granular, sandy. We see glimpses of fragile, transparent colours, in suspension. Colours of tanned skin, of transparent water, of stones polished by the desert winds.

THE ExPERIMENTAL SPACE “SOUND BOx” REVERBERATES THE VIBRATIONS EMITTED BY THE TRENDS OF THE MOMENTFor its second edition at Première Vision Leather, Sound Box Sound Box will be producing new vibrations, echoing the concept of this season’s Trends Gallery ‘Beauty, my beautiful concern’.

Artists and designers will take turns to reveal their vision of the “instability of beauty”, their universe and their perspective through words, images and sounds. The creator Maroussia Rebecq tells us how to approach fashion in a completely new way.

In her workshop, “the VW Factory,” the designer Victoria Wilmotte explains the importance of making her own prototypes. Surrounded by his works in his studio, the painter Errò talks about his vision of beauty.

The dancer-choreographer Mié Coquempot muses out loud while dancing to the silent score of the Art of Fugue by Bach.

And the make-up and mixed media artist Annabelle Petit demonstrates and comments her vision of make-up and the beauty of imperfection.

PREMIèRE VISION DESIGNS: A BALANCING AND ARRHYTHMIC SPRING SUMMER 17 At the heart of the show of textile designs and creativity, the spring summer season makes room for the line, in all evidence and quirkiness, and strongly emerging in colour, and playing with limits.

PLAYING wITH PROPORTIONS, with chance, it invites experimentation and sequential discovery through multiple readings and layers.

Encountering BIZARRE CHARACTERS, it recounts curious tales by reinventing contemporary myths and drawing on endless imagination. Impactful messages highlight, embellish, define, conceal or clearly flaunt, constantly setting a rhythm and cropping up in surprising places.

In a celebration of hesitation, a curve or a skid, A STUDY IN MOVEMENT offers up new answers to the classics and other spirited reinterpretations.

A season of happiness and casualness, with sharp irony, which makes spring-summer 17 an arrhythmic balancing act, peppered with frank affirmations and rewarding hesitations.

Spring-Summer 17 is guided by the captivating laws of attraction, explored in 3 main themes. This season cultivates good vibes to attract and bring closer worlds that can be very different. In doing so, it unites romanticism and technology, engages rawness and modernity in conversation, and binds mysticism with authenticity.

Romanticism is captivated by technology, generating an electro-poetic force, a visionary, experimental and feminine softness. In high definition, furtive visions give rise to high-tech vegetation, encouraging us to brush surfaces bristling with illusion, between fragile darks and strong pastels.

The Earth’s gravitational forces act like a spring, taking inspiration from its essential roots. Raw materials express their power and tend towards a new form of modernity. Balance is established between rudimentary and perfected, between ultra-materiality and fragility.

This season, the panorama of creation reveals unusual alliances with accessories who boldly declare their personality and their visibility to the world.

SPEED UP : footwear springs into motion at Shoe Focus

A desire to accelerate movements, stretch limbs, to pile up elements and ideas and then compress them. A quest for balance, bordering on the imbalanced.

Shoe Focus, the forum dedicated to technical components for footwear, displays technical elements and components, ornamentation and fashion and leather-material selections for footwear, offering an exclusive and pertinent view of seasonal trends.

A long ribbon will form the backdrop for the three main fashion trends for the season, three contradictory themes: Urgent relaxation / Facetious comfort / Mobile elegance

SUPERSONIC ROMANTIC Technology and poetry merge to create a sensitive and scientific innovation.Lab assistants and florists explore the garden of discovery together, and hatch a modern hyper-sensitive delicacy. Technologically and joyfully modified flowers grow in futuristic greenhouses.A romantic daydream in softened neon shades, wanders through a world of benevolent performance.

IMMACULATE PRIMITIVE Homage to the unusual and to a raw and authentic beauty.Reconnect with our origins; draw on resources to bring forth a new reading of raw creations. Cave paintings, bountiful lands and sacred woods are keen to interact with the modernity of products.

kNITwEAR SOLUTIONS: CROSSwAYSFor spring summer 17, flatbed knits are found at the crossroads. Knit fantasy explores inter-crossings, ribs cultivate plays on intersections, engineered jacquards and motifs are inspired by junctions, clothing overlaps and is constructed by interlacings.

kNIT INTERCROSSINGS Stitch plays trace our raised networks elaborated via transferred knits, tightened stitches and knit fantasy. Macro yarns trace similar paths, meet up and sketch out networks in jerseys. Openworking reveals landscapes traversed by roads. Interlacings emerge in two-tones, in matt / shiny contrasts, by contrasting smooth/irregular yarn textures.

LINE INTERSECTIONS Knits evoke railways, drawing regular and waving parallel patterns. The ribs come together and separate, grow fine and expand to modify volumes. Jerseys are needled out with precision, to sketch out neat lines. Tubular bands of different proportions intertwine. Stripes are shifting; they deviate, come together and intersect.

CROSSROAD PATTERNS Jacquards, intarsias and prints are inspired by a road vocabulary, by lines drawn on the ground, arrows pointing the way, forks in the road and urban signage. Engineered motifs enrich their visual impact thanks to the use of fancy yarns and combinations of smooth/grainy, powdery/gleaming, macro/micro, plains/throwns.

CROSSED SHAPES Garments are wrapped. Sweaters, jackets and dresses curl and tie around the body. Wraparound tops take centre stage, while tank tops multiply straps, which overlap each other in a sportswear spirit. Crossings and foldings become structuring elements of the silhouette. Openings are elaborated to pass through and fold back the knit panels. Shapes are intertwined and overlap in a linear way.

PREMIèRE VISION YARNS: AUTUMN wINTER 2017-18 UNFURLS ITS FIRST DIRECTIONS

Premiere Vision Yarns signals the first directions for autumn winter 1718, unfurling ingenious fibre and yarn innovations, blends and twists to give bloom to volume in the clothing of tomorrow, under the theme of UNFURLED.

The season opens its wings in five strong intentions, to give bloom to a majestic AW1718. Yarns forms and trace out volumes, where winter materials are fully expressed.

ORIGAMI evokes folds, tracings and geometric unfurlings, rational and pure with dense compacts.

FACETED, architecting the volume in helical, poetical and technical ways, inviting motion and the performance of materials.

HELIx tracing out rifts and generating heady spirals, sensual coilings, and rich fluidity.

DEVELOPED, structuring protective and adventurous wings all in lightness, with featherweight, soft and thermal materials.

wAVE, shaping by contrasting the tensions of warm ellipses, and allowing renewed elasticities to flourish.

From fibres and yarns to shapes, autumn winter 1718 favours majestic, generous and warm volume.
