They say time flies when you’re having fun. Maybe

that’s why the summer is going so quickly. Soon school

will start, Labor Day will be over, and CN&N will start

a new year. Many board and standing committee

members are new so there will be “glitches”. Be patient

with us. We start the year with our big fundraiser –

The Holiday Boutique. So start thinking about what

YOU can do to help.

Check out your copy of The Mountain Connection, they

wrote a nice article about CN&N in their August

edition. PLUS, they gave us $250 for being their

August beneficiary.

Meets the 2nd Friday of the month

We will be going to J.A. Balistreri Vineyards on September 13th.

There will be a tour of the winery starting at 10:30 a.m. The crush

will be going on at that time and so seeing the cellar (including

barrel room) and the crushing process will be interesting. Then we

will be able to choose what we want from the menu for lunch. Wine

tasting will follow in the tasting room. All for a cost of $24.00 per

person which includes tour, luncheon, wine tasting & tax. It does not

include tip. Another added bonus, if you choose to purchase

anything, will be an additional 15% discount. There will be a limit of

30 people attending. Meet at the Twin Forks park and ride to car

pool. For more information and to check out the menu for lunch

WINE TASTING

Wine tasting meets the first Saturday of the month at

6:30 PM. Attendees are asked to bring either an

appetizer or a dessert to share. Cost is $10.00 per

person. You do not have to drink wine to enjoy

socializing with fellow CN&N members – non-alcoholic

beverages are also provided. The September Wine

Tasting will be on September 7 at Jan and Tom

Powell’s home. The October Wine Tasting will be on

October 5 at Jan and Mike Swenson’s home. Sign-up

sheets for wine tastings will be at the CN&N meetings,

wine tastings or you may contact Susan directly by

phone or email (above). I am also looking for hostesses

for the next year – the months of December, January

and February. Please email your preferred month if you

The Hiking with Dogs group hikes area trails with our dogs,

weather permitting. Need not have a dog to hike but must like

dogs. Well-behaved spouses are also welcome! A weekly

• Feast on a deck garden potluck buffet (noon-ish)

• Share your autumn harvest, seeds or separated plants

• Exchange ideas about gardening in our challenging mountain environment

• Relax and enjoy a fall day with good folks!

Parking is limited and our driveway is steep for 50 yards; please save driveway spaces for those

that are mobility-impaired or who will have a hard time walking uphill. Others may park along

Critchell Lane or Kuehster Road (at the mailboxes near the corner). We’ll provide some shuttles.
