Tomorrow’s results are created by to-day’s dreamers. Many people dream of ways to help a personal special interest through estate planning. Maybe the in-terest is youth development, sports, pets, seniors, or education. There are many comforts for many individuals. The Nevada Women’s Fund is the hon-ored beneficiary of estate gifts from two remarkable women. Education of wom-en was the special interest of June Wisham and Nancy Peppin, each dedi-cating a percentage of their estate to help women seek professional opportunities. These gifts have inspired us to design planned giving opportunities to continue our work of serving women and provid-ing non-profit funding. Look for future announcements on ways to help our community in partnership with the Ne-vada Women’s Fund. Education matters! Frieda’s first scholar-ship came when she was in medical school. Today she is the only pediatric surgeon in our area. Alexis graduated as an environmental engineer with an inter-est in ecohydrology because of water shortages in our area. Terri drove from Yerrington daily to attend Western Ne-vada Community College. Later achiev-ing an MBA, today she is senior man-agement with Northern Nevada Medical Center. Melanie received 7 scholarships to accomplish medical school. Dr. Mela-nie formed her own NWF scholarship to assist future hopeful students. To these accomplished women, add teachers, pub-lic servants, marketing professionals, lawyers and so much more. We know what it means to educate a woman and have her be a productive and contrib-uting member of our local society. Thank you for 35 years of service. We look forward to many more.

Kyla fell in love with dentistry and the NWF scholarship is helping make her goal a reality. “I’ve seen how dentistry can change lives, reestablish someone’s health and confidence, and how a car-ing provider can calm the fears of a patient. That’s what I want to do, and there is no where else I would rather do it.” ~Kyla

Studying management and economic policy, Ana is a first-generation col-lege student at the University of Ne-vada, Reno. After earning her bache-lor’s degree, she plans to work in part-nership with non-profit organizations. Her focus is to help at-risk youth while encouraging a healthy and ac-tive life style. She promotes environ-mental preservation and sustainable education for younger generations. “It is an honor to be awarded a scholar-ship that recognizes women in the business field. Thank you Nevada Women’s Fund!” ~Ana

A three-time scholarship recipient, Ty-ler seeks a career in science. “I am ex-tremely grateful and honored to re-ceive the Nevada Womens Fund scholarship! I am a first-generation college student studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Univer-sity of Nevada, Reno. I work part-time and cannot imagine how difficult it would be to make enough to fund my entire education on my own. In my free time, I play violin for the Univer-sity of Nevada, Reno Symphony and the Reno Pops Orchestra. In the fu-ture, I hope to obtain a Ph.D. in Bio-physics. I enjoy research and hope that my work can benefit our commu-nity. Thank you for your generous donation. ~Tyler

Deciding to be a family caregiver, Ei-leen nurtured her grandmother and mother, before each passed away from cancer, and an uncle who past away from Parkinson and Alzheimer. After a 30-year delay, she is now attending col-lege. “My goal is to earn a Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education de-gree. I want to impact the lives of fu-ture generations and let them know, at a young age, the importance of family, education and giving back to the com-munity. ~Eileen

A student at TMCC with plans to at-tend the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018, Sasha serves on the Special Education Advisory Board for Washoe County School District and is also a volunteer student board mem-ber with Area Health Education Cen-ter in Reno. “I am ever so grateful that scholarships and grants exist for me. The funding from this wonderful scholarship helps alleviate a lot of the financial burden that comes with a higher education while raising a family. I take opportunities as this one with gratitude, and commitment as they lay a foundation for my fu-ture.” ~Sasha

Born in Pakistan, Herah grew up where education opportunities for fe-males are limited. She is a full-time student at the UNR College of Science and works two part-time jobs to pay for her education. “Getting the Nevada Women’s Fund scholarship is a great honor. Receiving this scholarship is not just receiving money; it tells me I am seen as having potential for the future of our society.” ~Herah
