He died of a

heart attack on January 5th, 1933 right after he wrote his autobiography. Calvin Coolidge was the 30th president. He was a Republican and was inaugurated into office August 2nd, 1923 after President Warren G. Harding died in office. Coolidge left office on March 4th, 1929. In his earlier life Coolidge worked as a public servant, farmer, and storekeeper.

Education

• When he was younger lived in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He attended a local school, before enrolling at the Black River Academy in Ludlow in 1886. During his college years he studied at Amherst College from 1891-1895. Later in 1897 he studied law at Amherst Coolidge as well.

Political Experience 1899: Was one of the Northampton , Massachusetts councilmen. 1900-1901: City solicitor 1904: Clerk of Courts 1907-1908: Member of the Massachusetts Legislature 1910-1911: Mayor of Northampton, Massachusetts. 1916-1918: Governor of Massachusetts 1919-1920: Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts 1921-1923: Vice President for Warren G. Harding Calvin Coolidge was a Republican.

Presidential Accomplishments

• During Coolidge's presidency he had many significances. He passed the Immigration Act of 1924 which cut the amount of immigrants only allowing 150,000 per year. Coolidge also vetoed a bill that would increase benefits for World War 1 veterans. During Coolidge’s presidency Babe Ruth hit 60 homeruns in one season, and Charles Lindbergh made hid famous solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.

After Life

• Calvin Coolidge chose not to run for presidency. His famous words were “ I do not choose to run for reelection in 1928. he instead help support his Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover who later became the President. Coolidge retired to write articles and have a private life. He died on January 5th, 1933 of a coronary thrombosis ( heart attack) while still writing his autobiography.
