Day 1 - Depart USA Depart Knoxville, TN for Spain. Meals andrefreshments served on board.Day 2 - Costa del Sol Welcome to the famous Costa del Sol,Spain’s Mediterranean coastline! Upon arrival in Malaga, proceedto baggage claim. After clearing customs, you will be met by yourCentral Holidays representative. You'll be transferred to your hotellocated in the renowned resort town of Torremolinos, situated alongone of the most cosmopolitan stretches of coastline in Spain. Seville is Spain's fourth largest city and thecapital of the Andalusia region. Built on the banks of theGuadalquivir River, the city has a rich history with vast Moorishinfluences and was once a prosperous trading port with theAmericas. It was in Seville that Columbus docked upon returningfrom America. Enjoy a panoramic tour of this vibrant city; see themeticulous gardens at Maria Luisa Park, stroll through the districtof Santa Cruz and revel in the city’s 15th century Cathedral. Day 4 – Costa del Sol/Ronda After breakfast enjoy a full-day tourto Ronda. Explore the mountainous region of Ronda on this relaxingday-trip from the Costa del Sol. You'll see all the highlights of thelovely town of Ronda, including the Plaza de Toros Maestranza, theChurch of the Holy Spirit, the town square, and a bull-fightingmuseum. The picturesque town of Ronda spans the plunging rivergorge known as El Tajo, crossed by the impressive 18th centuryPuente Nuevo Bridge. You'll visit the town square, known as Plazade Espana, the Church of the Holy Spirit built in 1485, and theCathedral Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, known today asthe Church of Saint Mary the Elder. Plaza de Toros, the oldest bullring in Spain, has staged some of the most important events inbullfighting history. The museum's collection of memorabiliaincludes photos of famous bullfighting fans, including ErnestHemingway and Orson Wells. You’ll have free time to explore Rondaand perhaps enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning toyour hotel along the Costa del Sol. Here, shopping treasures abound in the myriad of colorfulmarkets and meandering streets. Its strategic location and historyhave made it an international symbol of solidity and strength andis frequently featured in the world press and media. Gibraltar isconnected to Spain by a sandy strip. The subject of repeatedconquest and siege, Gibraltar has been a British territory since1704 when it was ceded forever under the Treaty of Utrecht. Since1973, it has been a part of the EU under the British accession.When you first see the Rock of Gibraltar, whether it is from the air,from the sea, or from either the Costa del Sol or the western end ofthe Bay, its impressive stature, towering isolated above thesurrounding countryside causes the greatest impact. It has had thiseffect on people for many thousands of years. Built by the Nazarite Kings,it includes: Alcazaba Citadel and the Palaces of Los Leones andComares; the Generalife, a summer residence set in beautifulgardens; the Royal Room of Santo Domingo, built in the orchardsof Almanxarra; and the Palace of Alcazar Genil, used by the NazariteQueens. The Palace of Charles V, designed in 1526 by PedroMachuca in the heart of the Alhambra as a symbol of new power,is the most outstanding Renaissance work in Granada.
