2017 is going to be a very busy year for the Alberta
Sheep Breeders’ Association and the Alberta Sheep
Industry. With two major events happening in late
June and mid October, you do not want to miss
this opportunity to gain local and national
advertising and marketing opportunities.
Your generous support of the Alberta Sheep
Industry and its producers is vital to the continued
growth of our industry as well as the development
of our agricultural youth.

information for both the All Canada Sheep Classic,
held over the July long weekend, and the Alberta
Sheep Symposium to be held in October. Both
events will be held in central Alberta and are
premier opportunities for the sheep industry, both
provincially and nationally.

In 2017 the Alberta Sheep Breeders’ Association
(ASBA) is proud to be hosting the Canadian
Sheep Breeders Association (CSBA) All-Canada
Classic Show in Red Deer, Alberta at the Westerner
grounds June 29-July 1st.
Breeders from across Canada will have their
breeding stock on display . There will be 300-400
head of sheep representing 14-16 different breeds
shown and offered for sale by public auction.
Consignors, buyers and spectators from coast to
coast are present and we are expecting
approximately 400 attendees.
With printed and online advertising being made
available prior to the event, if you are looking for
exposure of your products or services to a broad
cross section of consumers, both nationally and
locally, consider participating in the “Classic” trade
show or by becoming a “Classic “ sponsor.

ASBA Symposium
The Alberta Sheep Breeders’ Association (ASBA) is proud
to present the 25th Alberta Sheep Symposium in 2017. The
Symposium is the signature event for the Alberta Sheep
Industry and has been running every 2 years since the first
event held in 1969. Over the years, the topics and speakers
presented have evolved with the changing needs of the
industry and remains a principal source of information for
Alberta producers.
For the Symposium, we invite you to consider a sponsorship
package, which will provide Alberta sheep producers and
Alberta sheep veterinarians the opportunity to learn the
latest innovations in sheep husbandry, nutrition and
management from current experts in the field. The
Symposium is also open to producers and veterinarians from
other provinces. Your sponsorship dollars will help to
support the cost of speakers and, depending on sponsorship
level, give you valuable exposure to the delegates at the trade
fair.
The Symposium Trade Show , because of the
program format and layout of the facilities , is very effective
for vendors to promote their products to Symposium
Delegates. We have allotted a generous amount of time in
the program schedule for delegates to visit the booths and to

Alberta Sheep Breeder’s Association Memorial scholarship
The ASBA Memorial scholarship is awarded annually to a
deserving young sheep producer pursuing post secondary
education. This scholarship helps to emphasize the
importance of our youth in the future of agriculture in
Alberta.

scholarship has been awarded to, and to see what they are up

The ASBA maintains the scholarship fund through the
proceeds of the Silent Auction held at the biannual ASBA
Alberta Sheep Symposium. Items for the auction are
