Why are Emotions Important?

At one time or another we all experience strong feelings that accompany positive or negative emotions. A day without feeling emotions would be impossible to imagine. Each day we feel dozens of emotions.Examples: •the excitement of going on holidays, •The fear of flying, •The grief of losing a family member.

Meet Harry……

Today after school Harry wants to go to the candy store to buy some candy but he don’t have any money and he remember when his mom said she will give him $2 if he make an “A” on his math test today. When Harry got his grade back from his teacher he made a “F” and his mom didn’t give him $2. Now Harry has a face.

• This involves body changes which occur when we experience an emotion. It is often our awareness of the changes that makes us suddenly aware that we are experiencing an emotion.

Meet the twins

The two twins love toys (green cameras) but there are two of them and one toy camera. Once the twin on the right have gained a jealous emotion he expresses a angry look on his little face and caused his physical reaction…Fighting the twin on the left. AWWWWWW look at them…..

How to deal with your emotions ?

• Dealing with emotions is very important to your health. It's all very well to say that we must deal with these feelings, but how do we go about doing so? • 1st =Acceptance• Dealing with our feelings is facing, accepting and working through them. We

will always have emotions, so we have to learn to deal with them• If you don’t accept your emotions it will come back on you causing

• Depression• Anxiety• Panic attacks• Eating disorders

How to deal with your emotions ?

• 2nd=Confrontation • Either use a diary, journal, notebook, etc. to record your feelings. Ask yourself

the following questions:• What am I feeling? • What caused this feeling?• When did it start?• Is this a familiar feeling?• What will I try to do to stop it?

• 3rd = counseling • If you have tried to different approaches and nothing works try talking to

someone.
