HUPAC is NAHU’s political action committee. It is the expression of our First Amendment rights to free speech and association guaranteed under the Constitution. Such political expression has become far more than a useful option for professionals in a heavily regulated business like the health industry. It has become a necessity.

Why is HUPAC necessary?Why is HUPAC necessary? Few other industries are as heavily regulated as health insurance.

Therefore, your success, and that of your clients, is directly dependent upon the actions of Congress. It is critical that we help those members who are willing to consider our point of view in support of private sector health insurance. We can only succeed if HUPAC has the necessary resources – contributions from you and your colleagues around the country.

HUPAC contributes to majority and minority party candidates, incumbents and challengers alike. Because it is non-partisan, it does not represent the interest of any political party.

Contributor AwardsContributor Awards There are five donation levels. Each level has its own

distinctive lapel pin to designate the member as a HUPAC supporter.

Benefactor Level:Benefactor Level: $10 monthly donation, $120 annually, BLUE PIN.

Legislator Level:Legislator Level: $20 monthly donation, $240 annually, RED PIN.

Congressional Level:Congressional Level: $40 monthly donation, $480 annually, GREEN PIN.

Senatorial Level:Senatorial Level: $80 monthly donation, $1000 annually, WHITE PIN.

Presidential Level:Presidential Level: $200 monthly donation, $2400 annually, GOLD PIN.

Contributor Awards: Contributor Awards: Capitol ClubCapitol Club

The Capitol Club program honors those HUPAC contributors whose outstanding support merits special recognition.

NAHU members who have contributed $1,000, or have committed $80 per month or more via credit card or bank draft are eligible.

What are some of the benefits? All participants will be invited to an exclusive Capitol Hill luncheon with a high-ranking member of Congress. Participants will also have special ribbons and seating at Capitol Conference and convention.

CriteriaTo qualify for the Triple Crown, within the calendar year, a member must:

HUPAC: Participate in the $10 x 12 draft program or contribute $150 total

Membership: Recruit at least two new membersAdvocacy: Use Operation Shout to send at least three messages

Only NAHU members, their families and staff can contribute to HUPAC.

Clients of NAHU members may not contribute to HUPAC. All donations must be made by individuals- FEC regulations prohibit PAC contributions by corporations or companies.

You can contribute in two ways…

– HUPAC can accept contributions on a Personal checking account or credit card.

– Contributions by monthly bank draft or credit card allows you to spread your contribution through the year.
