UNINA Palaeography course 2014-2015This course for the students of the Master Degrees in History and in Organization andAdministration of the Cultural and Environmental Heritage provided an overview on theevolution of Latin Script. It showed it as a tangible part of our cultural heritage waiting tobe discovered, understood, protected and valuated.

The course is organized in the context of ENArC – European Network on ArchivalCooperation (EU Culture Programme 2007-2013) and of co:op – community asOpportunity. the creative Archives’ and Users’ network (EU, Creative Europe.2014-2020).

Based on the pedagogical principles of constructivism and contextualism, the coursestarted with the teaching of the traditional methodologies and the palaeographicanalysis of the manuscripts. Then, it proceeded with a contextualising visit to theoriginal setting of the production and conservation sites of the manuscripts and thecharters in the city of Naples. Finally the lectures traced a path by using the digitalarchives available on the international platform Monasterium.Net and by employingMonasterium’s tool MOM-Ca.
