ASSIGNMENT TWO

LIGHTING

Here I have taken a image showing

Hard light I think the photo is good

because it shows an obvious shadow But I think a different pose or

edit effect would be necessary.

This photo was taken for my AS Photography work last year but I thought it would be a good example to use in my lighting work in this assignment. I like the photo because its bright and good quality. The photo shows a bright/soft light, edited a little but if I could change something it would be to have not cut some of her head out the image.

COMPOSITION

This image is an example that I

took of Depth Of Field. The image

is focused on the speed sign where as the

background is more out of focus.

This photograph was taken in London, the photo represents a topic of space where everything on the right is the same throughout the photo.

This image shows rule of thirds. The pier is on the horizontal and the end of the pier is in the middle of the image, I think this photo portrays what rule of thirds is.

PORTRAIT I have chosen this photo to use as my portrait image because I like that its

simple but draws you in. The photo is also symmetrical. The photo was taken

in a light room and could also be soft light. I edited this photo on Photoshop by changing the contrast and the colour to black and white.

HEALTH & SAFTEY

IT is important for when

shooting the a studio to be

aware of the health and

safety issues that may

arise when shooting. The

lights can get extremely

hot so is it important you

handle them with care and

not burn yourself. You

should also be careful of

the leads from the lights

and make sure you don’t

trip over them and not to

get them tangled. “

You should always handle studio equipment with

care as they are very expensive.

IMAGE MANIPULATION

Here is an example of one of my own images using image manipulation. The photo on the left is the original photo I took. The image on the right is the one I edited. Just by editing one photograph can have a huge effect on how you see the image. I used the right image for my AS photography and was going for a 60’s theme. Just by editing it I have changed the image colour completely.

AJUSTING COLOURSThis image I have taken shows a range of bright colours. Even thought the image

was bright before I adjusted some of the colours by changing the contrast and levels.

Just by doing this the photo becomes more interesting and creative.

N Overall I am happy with the

work I produced and my

editing. I think I have a range of

different types of shots with

different types of creative

photography. Some photos are

better than others but used

them to show the ranges of

skills I can produce in

photography”
