In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Colour scheme.
My magazine doesn’t break many conventions. It is a pop/ chart magazine, how ever unlike most pop/chart magazines my colour scheme isn’t so random or mixed up. Instead I went with black, white, pink and blue to keep the magazine more organized and easier for the reader to navigate through.
Layout
Some pop/chart magazines can look a little to cramped making it harder to read or to focus on one thing at a time. So with the layout of my magazine I made sure it was tidy, but also had lots of information and lots of things going on at the same time. So like most pop magazines I followed similar conventions to other pop/chart magazine layouts.
COVERWith the cover of my magazine I was inspired by other pop or/and chart magazines, so the conventions of the cover are similar to them. The only thing that may have broken conventions of a pop magazine was again the colour scheme that didn’t have as many colours as most pop magazines. But this was intended, so that the magazine would look more tidy even with lots of information on it.
Contents
The contents page in my magazine matches the colour scheme on the cover of the magazine and the mast head is also printed again on the contents page. This follows most pop/chart magazine conventions and links the magazine together and gives it more of its own theme.
ArticleMy article again follows conventions and has a similar layout to most magazine articles not just pop or chart magazines. The colour scheme ties in with the cover and contents page. I have a bold title including the artists name and smaller headlines that appear through the text (interview). The smaller headlines are quotes from the artist (this appears in most Q&As).
Photos
I have also put credit to the photographer(me) by the edge of the picture in small print. All the pictures I have used follow conventions they make eye contact with camera to connect with viewers.
