Location studies

Unit 12 (Fine Art) a. recording of experiences or information to develop intentions What approaches did you use to examine and record your location? Representing the space; details; light etc. How did you decide and which worked the best? Why?

b use of materials, processes and technology or a combination of materials, processes and technology to develop ideas What did you learn through your initial enquiries? Experiments and techniques, use of an experimental process to generate new ideas, suitability of some rather than others?

a) When I first started to look at my area I made many study's, I used medias such as paint, pen and ink. I found it useful to study my area. It helped me understand the perspective of the garden and I learnt about how I can use marks to suggest space, shapes and plants.

b) When I was doing my initial study's I also looked at different artist to help me find ways to represent space. I found working in water colour looked most effective for my area in question as the colours suited the flowers and other plants

Location studies SketchUp and MovieMultimedia

b) Developing multimedia ideasby combining the use oftechnology processes.

b) In my area there was a green house, i used google sketch up to create my own green house. I used the simple push and cut tools to create the shapes and then the paint bar for colours and textures. Google sketch up helped me to understand the perspective of the green house. I used real measurements I took for my area to produce this model in sketch up

Making and developmental work - (Large drawing, 3D, print)Unit 12 (Fine Art) a. recording of experiences or information to develop intentions What approaches did you use to examine and record your location? Representing the space; details; light etc. How did you decide and which worked the best? Why?

b use of materials, processes and technology or a combination of materials, processes and technology to develop ideas What did you learn through your initial enquiries? Experiments and techniques, use of an experimental process to generate new ideas, suitability of some rather than others?

a) I was thinking about how I could present my area. I did a big collage of a rose bush that was in my place of question and found it was hard to create shadows using simple colours, so I worked into it using paint and other art materials such as chalk.

b) As I said before from doing my study of my place in question I found using water colour create a nice effect of plants. I also used mark making and this worked very well to produce larger work with little detail.

Using historical and contemporary researchUnit 9Contextual References

a research into historical and contemporary work, showing understanding of the contexts which influenced the work .

What have you learned about the influences on other’s work?

B recording and presenting information explaining the use of visual language in others’ work. Where have you analysed examples? What did you learn?

c use of contextual references in own work How have you used references? What impact did they have on your ideas?

• A) I looked at the artist Van Gogh, when I was creating a study of a sunflower, using ink and water colours I managed to produce a substantial piece of work.

• B I did research on a illustrator called Jonathan Allardyce, the style he used taught me a lot

• C) from doing research on how different artist use perspective this intern helped me with doing my own perspective of my place in question.

Unit 13 (Design)

a) Resolve the needs of the brief to develop intentionsHow did you develop the final brief? What client / end user is it for? Why?

What constraints and requirements did you consider?

What research did you undertake into your chosen area of creative enquiry?

b) Develop a range of ideas in response to the brief. How did you develop your ideas for the final outcome? What techniques did you use to generate ideas? What influenced you in doing this?

Developing your personal brief

a) For my final piece I didn’t have a client but was working for a piece that would be hung in a gallery.

I thought about the size and how it would look in a space, I choose the size it is because it would fit nicely in a home or in a gallery.

b) For my final outcome I used paint and ink and stencilling, I choose these techniques as the are what I used throughout my book.

Unit 11 Develop & Produce Own Ideas

a) Create and develop ideas in response to the brief. How did you interpret your brief? What different approaches to the same theme did you explore? What decisions did you make to refine your ideas?

b) Plan and produce finaloutcome using specialist working methods and processes. How did you decide on the final outcome? Why was this the best approach? How did you choos the techniques you’ve used? Did they work effectively?

Developing your personal brief

a)To refine my idea I thought out how I could bring all the things I have been experimenting with together.

Such as I produced stencil work throughout my book and used it on my final outcome.

b) I think the choose to use a stencil was a good one because it is like a window to the painting behind.

Unit 10Professional Practicea investigate and analyse professional practice Where have you looked at the working methods and approaches of others in this project?

b apply and develop professional practice in own work How did you adopt an approach from researching the above? c investigate and apply health and safety and legal requirements. What health & safety risks have you avoided? How?

d appropriate standards of professional working approach How did you refine and present your work to a professional standard?

• a) throughout my book I looked at artist and how they worked. I tried to mimic the work and use there styles

• b) I used painting approach's from artists I looked at in my own work.

• c) when doing the stencils I used a craft knife, there were health and safety risks involved in this, I always cut away from myself to avoided cutting myself

• d) to refine my work, I took care when doing and went back over my painted in different steps.

Unit 8Personal, Portfolio Development & Progression

a personal presentation and communication skills

b portfolio presentation techniques How have you presented your work?

c identifying and pursuing progression goals What evidence do you have of research into progression? Photos of open days, website research? What have you learned so far?

B) in my art I used photography skills, I played around with shadows and angels. I many took photos of my 3d work. I made a lamp and found it produced good images.

C)I have done a lot of research online about open days and where I'm thinking of apply to.
