Nathan: The genre of our game is action/adventure. We want to create a thrilling detective environment with a comedic twist. Adam: It follows the story of two relatively posh detectives as they track down a brutal serial killer, leaving mystic symbols. Nathan: We have based it on games such as L.A.Noire and Condemned. We have given the precision of L.A.Noire and the creativity of condemned. Adam: The serial killer is a psychopath who believes that he is being visited by demons which tell him to massacre many individuals. Nathan: We have also based the game during the seventies to give it a “retro” impression. We got this inspiration from the television show Life on Mars, as well as Ashes to Ashes. Nathan: Our cut sequence features four characters, two detectives, a waiter and a police constable. The detectives are the two main character stay together throughout the majority of the game to avoid people growing close to a certain character throughout. Adam: The characters are both stereotypically curious and cautious of almost everything. They both have both have posh accents and will both use formal language as well as some British slang phrases like lads and chaps. Nathan: Our cut sequence is a slight mixture of the comedy and serious aspect as it begins in a café. The two characters both meet and have a small conversation about what has happened. At this point Charles orders some food and a drink which changes the subject entirely. Adam: This is one of the places where the comedic side of the game takes place. This cut sequence will take place roughly near the beginning of the game. This is to give a comedic intro to the two characters and give a sense of the character’s personalities. Nathan: Charles for example, seems like a very laidback individual as we see him haphazardly entering the café and ordering an omelette even though he should be heading to a crime scene. Adam: In Rodney’s case, we see him being antsy about wanting to go the crime scene; this shows him to be a very work driven individual.

Adam: We will produce multiple audio files such as dialogue for the characters, background sound effects for the café such as people talking; clinking of cups and cutlery. We will also produce music to be played in the background of the café to help create the atmosphere.

Nathan: We will also add the faint sound of traffic as the crime scene is in a back alley. For obvious reasons we won’t add any music for this part of the game as they are outside.

Nathan: We will be using field recording to get the sound for the traffic and the sound of cutlery and bugs clinking together. We will use a sound booth to record the dialogue for the characters.
