History of SAARCSTAT Website
o First meeting of the Heads of
Statistical Organizations of SAARC
member states was held in Kolkata.
FBS DP Centre Islamabad was assigned
the job to develop SAARCSTAT Website.
DDG(c) was nominated as Coordinator of
SAARCSTAT website from Pakistan.

First meeting of Coordinators of
SAARCSTAT Technical Sub-Groups and
Second meeting of Heads of SAARC
Statistical Organizations was held.
It was decided in the meeting that Pakistan
will prepare first draft of the designs of the
SAARCSTAT Website.

SAARCSTAT Website Draft Design
Websites of different statistics organizations/SAARC member
states were presented/compared/discussed to get ideas.
Base-paper was sent to all the member states for comments.
The data of common interest was identified.
Based on the data/proposals from the SAARC member states
four draft designs were prepared and circulated among
Member States through SAARC Secretariat for
comments/approval.
In the light of comments received from the member states, the
final draft design was updated.

In the light of Dr. S. K. Nath’s study report titled “Enhancement of Efficacy of SAARCSTAT by Developing Web-based, User Protected Interface and Institution of a Statistical Cell” the SAARCSTAT website was restructured / re-
developed accordance with the chapter 3 “Framework for development of SAARCSTAT web-based user-protected interface”
