November 26, 2017 Feast of Christ the King
Dear parishioners:
Several wonderful things happened at the Stewardship Drive this
year. First of all, we received enough volunteers to staff the St. Vin-
cent de Paul Line with each volunteer taking a day every two weeks.
Wonderful response! Secondly we picked up new volunteers for
maintenance, Altar helpers, RCIA, Extraordinary ministers of Holy
Communion. Parishioners seem reticent to pledge money! We will
need to work on that and pray over it because it really is important.
The first time I tithed it was a very scary experience! All sorts of
“what ifs” ran thru my mind. I also felt reckless – not taking respon-
sibility maybe for my welfare. But it all worked out and guess what
there was a surprise! I had even more money left over then I had ev-
er imagined. The last two years I have gone well beyond tithing. For
one thing its all tax deductible and I don’t like to pay taxes! Second-
ly, its actually fun to be able to help others. Take the chance.
Families asking for infant baptism must make sure that godparents
(padrinos) are married in the church and are confirmed. Parents must be
registered in the parish. Call Deacon Sid for preparation class. We will
run one per month. Parish: 303-534-4882. Marriage preparation: Please
see me 8 months before your marriage.
Quinceaneras celebrations will be scheduled through the parish office on-
ly. The girl and her escorts must be baptized and confirmed to do these
celebrations. No exceptions!!
There will be a compulsory program for all parents whose children
are in the catechetical program. We will meet starting Sunday Dec. 3
in the Church after 8:30 mass.
Check our parish website for activities. Presentationdenver.org.
We are having light refreshments each weekend for the students. Suzan-
na de Leon and Anita Martinez are coordinating this. We have coffee for
the parishioners in the gym. No Coffee this holiday weekend. The Span-
ish youth group D’Militum will be selling food outside or at St. Joe Hall to
raise money. They can use your support. God bless all of you!
May the Souls of all the Faithful Departed rest in Peace!
Fr. Ed
The Consequences of Being Wrong! Any reasonable person consid-ers the possibility that he (or she) could be wrong regarding any important position they take. If the pro-life movement is wrong, then we are guilty of try-ing to deny women a so-called right to privacy (which has nev-er been part of our Constitu-tion). But, if the pro-abortion side is wrong, then they are indisputa-bly and directly responsible for the slaughter and mass murder of millions of innocent children----three and a half thousand a day in the United States. So, the question is, would it be
better to be pro-life and wrong,
or pro-choice and wrong? The
answer is very clear!
aborto y estar equivocado? La
respuesta es muy clara!

Adopt-A-Family Christmas should be a joyous time, but for many of our neighbors, this simp-ly isn't the case. As they struggle on a limited budget to afford essentials like food and rent, providing gifts for their children might not be an option. With Adopt-A-Family, we match compassionate donors like you with families in need. Donors are able to choose and “adopt” individual families and shop for items on their wish list! Your help will provide families with Christmas memories that will make them smile - and fill their hearts with joy! Questions? Please call the Adopt-A-Family hotline at (720) 799-9316.
