Young people are impacted by a lack of access to essential services and they are disproportionately impacted by key health issues such as HIV and AIDS. This puts young people in an important position to have a say about their access to appropriate services.

The major problem with increasing HIV AIDS rates in
Palestine are due to the myths surrounding the
disease and the social stigma with people who are infected
or living with HIV/AIDS…They believe that dying in silent
is much better than seeking treatment from this
disease…

Young people are the ones who have grown up with the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
The vast majority of young people still have no idea how HIV is transmitted or how to protect themselves from the virus.
10 million young people globally are living with HIV and AIDS. Millions more have lost a parent to it.
Before parents die from AIDS, children often have to take on adult tasks such as caring for the sick, looking after younger siblings and generating income.
These young people need access to essential services, including education and healthcare.
