About us

Humble Beginnings

We started just as a Facebook page. We started with a competition for increasing

awareness on Earth Hour. We asked people to take photos of them celebrating the hour

and send them to us. This Competition had a huge reach and we were able to reach

more than 8,000 people.

Save The Species Campaign

An online campaign where we asked members to post short articles on Animal and endangerment.

Online competitions

We Have conducted many online competitions to reach to a wider community and also build

awareness.

Eco Youth magazineWe released a magazine with articles and contributions from Students all over the world and UAE on June 5th 2013 (World Environment Day). The magazine was released by Mr. Colin Gomes and Mr. Keenan Pimenta, supervisors of Our own English High School, Sharjah (Boys’ Branch)

Venturing outside-Give A Ghaf EventDue to repeated requests from people, we volunteered at an event for collecting Ghaf Seeds (the national tree of the UAE and also a protected specie) conducted by Goumbook. We also supported the Dubai Expo 2020 Bid here along with Goumbook.

Sfe Navabavana “Go Humane” Iftar EventWe organized an iftar event for over 250 labourers at Sajja labour camp in Sharjah. About 50 people attended the event as volunteers. The special thing about this was that we served and laid out the food and also broke our fast along with the labourers. We also gifted 3 trees for planting to them.

Big Heart EventWe volunteered with the Big heart to sell pearls for collecting Money for Syrian Refugee children. It was conducted over 3 days.

Sharjah International Children Film Festival (SICFF)

Students for the Earth members volunteered at the SICFF event at Al Majaz and Al Qasbawhich was held over 2 weeks. More than 50 volunteers from Sfe. joined for it.

Clean up the World CampaignSfe. volunteers also participated in the Clean Up The World Campaign of Dubai Municipality too. We were also awarded for this participation by the Dubai Municipality too.

Visit to Change InitiativeSfe. Members also visited the Change Initiative building. A sustainable building in the region. They attended a Green Buildings Workshop and toured the building.

Sfe. National Day Quiz ContestOur Largest ever online quiz competition. Over 193 entries from students from various schools across the UAE.
