The « Piton des Neiges »
Reunion Island emergedof the Ocean 3 millonsyears ago.
Today, the « Piton desNeiges » appears as thehighest point of theIndian Ocean (3071m).
When the volcano collapsed, due to theerosion, the Piton des Neiges created three« cirques », natural amphiteathers andunique sanctuaries of biodiversity.
