SYMYB, S.L. , founded in the 60's, manufactures a comprehensive range of products for automotive

industry. Both of our manufacturing facilities are very conveniently located in Catalonia (NE cost of

Spain) in Rubí (Barcelona) and in L’ Arboç (Tarragona) with less than one hour drive from Barcelona.

Our scope market is the world. Currently we are selling in 10 countries in 4 continents.

Innovative and cost-effective stamping in SYMYB’s Polyvalent, Waved and SSOS tool This is an standard process using SYMYB’s tooling technology. Same tool produces lots of different length parts.

We have developed 3 technologies (Polyvalent, Waved and SSOS tool) and produce 2 million pieces like:

Conventional stamping from coils in progressive tool This is the common stamping process. The carbon steel or stainless steel coil is forced to pass through a progressive tool, where we apply the final shape required. We produce 3 million pieces like:

Conventional stamping from Aluminium coils in progressive tool This is normal progressive stamping but in Aluminium coils. The coil is forced to pass through a manual or progressive tool, where we apply the final shape required. SYMYB produces 12 million pieces like:

Stamping from Shaped Profiles This kind of pieces come from a pre-shaped Aluminium profile; The profile is split into pieces and whether in the

same strike whether in another one, final shape is achieved. Our company produces around a million pieces like:

New Special Stamping Processes Common stamping processes are not always suitable for special parts. We produce 0.7 meter half-wheels pieces in progressive processes, for example:

We also have a process to substituting FINE BLANKING. It is commonly believed as expensive process and is

used to produce special need pieces, with small tolerances, edge shape, and large thickness; but we have the

technology to work up to 12 mm thick assuring tolerances and edge’s shape.

Assembly There are pieces that need to work together without being welded. This is achieved by the solely production and

afterwards assembly. We produce sets within aluminium, steel, plastic, and rubber components.

Welding There are pieces that need to be welded. This is achieved by the solely production and afterwards a “point welding” stage. Within the same stage, we can weld more than 2 pieces.

At present, pieces which are manufactured with this Polyvalent Tooling, have got 8 different steps (16, 24, 32, 40, 50, 64, 80 and 107mm), 22 different lengths from 200 to 800 mm, and thickness from 0,8 up to 1,2 mm. The alignment is as important as the tooling does it using a LASER Ray. Principal Savings are: • In design: The characterization of a new standard has allowed that the Side Support should not mean any cost in the

design, only to fit this standard with the conjunct. • In prototypes: The time for prototypes obtained with definitive means is 2 weeks. • In Time-to-Market: In this type of pieces, with shared and already existing design, time-to-market has diminished to

only approximately 2 weeks from the order. • In Purchasing Process: There exists a standard drawing that serves for all the similar models, with a predictable CBD. • In Tooling: An alone tooling makes several dozens of models. • In new Tooling: If it is possible adapt to the drawing table, the cost of tooling is 0 €. • In Raw material. On not producing scrap, the cost of the Raw Material has diminished to the simplest form. So much it

weighs, so much it costs.

Polyvalent Tooling for Shaped Side Supports

Several projects include pieces from this Polyvalent Tooling with just one step and 3 different lengths. The alignment is

important as the tooling uses a LASER Ray.

Principal Savings:

• In design: The characterization of a new standard has allowed that the Side Support should not mean any cost in the

design, only to fit this standard with the conjunct.

• In prototypes: The average time for prototypes obtained with definitive means is of only 4 weeks

• In Time-to-Market: In this type of pieces, with shared and already existing design, time-to-market it has diminished to

only approximately 6 weeks from the order.

• In Purchasing Process: There exists a standard

drawing that serves for all the similar models with a

predictable CBD.

• In Tooling: An alone tooling makes several models.

• In new Tooling: If were possible to adapt to the drawing

table, the cost of tooling is cheaper than a new one.

• In Raw material: On producing very small scrap, the

cost of the Raw Material has diminished to quite the

simplest form.

Waved Tooling for Side Supports

Nowadays five projects include parts from this Waved Tooling with different steps (26+wing, 32, 50, 64 and 80

mm) and 8 different lengths, from 200 mm up to 800 mm, at 0.5 mm thickness. The alignment is not as important.

Principal Savings:

In design. The characterization of a new standard has allowed that the Side Support should not mean any cost in the

design, only to fit this standard with the conjunct.

In prototypes: The average time for prototypes obtained with definitive means is of only 2 days.

In Time-to-Market: In this type of pieces, with shared and already existing design, time-to-market it has diminished to

only approximately 1 week from the order.

In Purchasing Process: There exists a standard drawing that serves for all the similar models, with a predictable CBD.

In Tooling: An alone tooling makes several dozens of models.

In new Tooling: If it is possible to adapt to the drawing table, the cost of tooling is 0 €.

Those 3 technologies are just a selected example. In every reference we quote, we consider the full

amount cost of the project and we offer to our customers the best relationship between the tooling cost,

the piece cost and the future savings, always with certified ISO TS Quality standards.

Several Steps One Strike (SSOS) Tooling for Shaped Side Supports

With this tooling, an infinity of lengths models could be produced from 200 mm and with no limited length. As

innovative as it allows to make several figures simultaneously, at the same strike, with several hundredth parts of a

second of difference between phases, on the same zone of the piece. This is an evolution based on the two

previous technologies. The alignment of tooling is not as important as it was in other technologies.

Principal Savings:

• In design. The characterization of a new standard has allowed that the Side Support should not mean any cost

in the design, only to fit this standard with the conjunct.

• In prototypes: The average time for prototypes obtained with definitive means is of only 2 days.

• In Time-to-Market: In this type of pieces, with shared and already existing design, time-to-market it has
