– Tiene el marco característico de la zeolita natural Chabazita (CHA).
– Anillos de 8 oxígenos con poros de (~ 4Å) que permiten el acceso en tres dimensiones y formación de cavidades.
– La estructura de SAPO-34 es selectiva permitiendo el paso de algunas moléculas, mientras que bloquea el paso a otras.
– Se pueden modificar la superficie y crear un adsorbentes con diferentes funcionalidades.

MOTIVACIÓN• Remoción selectiva de CO2 del aire en las cabinas de las
naves espaciales.

• En la actualidad la NASA usa la tecnología (CDRA) para la eliminación de CO2.
•CDRA utiliza las zeolitas 13X y 5A como adsorbentes. •El CDRA tiene capacidad limitada a bajas concentraciones de CO2.

Objetivos
• General:– Producir un adsorbente nanoporoso más efectivo en la
remoción de CO2 del aire de las cabinas en las naves espaciales.
– Estos adsorbentes serán una opción para reemplazar los materiales utilizados actualmente por la NASA para la eliminación de dióxido de carbono y reemplazar el sistema (CDRA) que no es muy efectivo en la adsorbción de CO2.

Objetivos
• Específico:– Mediante el intercambio iónico con una
sal de Sr se pretende introducir iones de Sr en la plantilla de SAPO-34.
– Al remplazar los cationes presentes en el material, con Sr pretendemos hacer el medio selectivo y más atractivo para la remoción eficiente de CO2.
