Beauty & Appeal To The Senses
In the poem there is
appeal to sight and
taste....
Beauty & Appeal To The Senses
Appeal To Sight & Taste
Although the speaker admires the clothes it causes her
pain, physically and emotionally
She feels rejected. It draws blood from her and causes her pain. The speaker feels that she doesn't
have the right to wear the clothes“ I can never be as lovely as
those clothes”
The clothes
suffocate her and
cause her harm
and discomfort
THE SPEAKER HAS SELF DOUBT
The speaker never see a full image of her self in the mirrors. She sees a broken image.
^ this quote suggests that the journey was traumatic and caused the family a lot of pain. The “prickly heat” may suggest that the baby got a heat rash.
