Present Progressive tense tells what someone is doing RIGHT NOW.
It is formed by using 2 verbs: estar + gerundestar
estoy estamos
estás (estáis)
está están
+ gerund = “ing”
ar = ando
er/ir = iendo
Choose the form of estar that
agrees with the subject of the
sentence.
Use ando for –ar verbs and iendo for –er or –ir verbs.
Ex: hablar = hablando
comer = comiendo

Some gerunds are irregular. -Ir stem changers in the Preterit tense will also stem change in the gerund form.

estabas (estabais)
estaba estaban

imperfect tense.
Use ando for –ar verbs and iendo for –er or –ir verbs.
