Proprietary Name – Trade name given by manufacturer to identify their brand. Same drug may have several different brand names
Amoxicillin - Trimox, Amoxil, Polymax
Lidocaine – Xylocaine, Octocaine, Nervocaine
Hydrocodone – Vicodin, Lortab, Stagesic
Ibuprofen – Motrin, Advil, Nuprin
