Welcome to Christ for the Nations Preschool

We believe that God included your child in His plan for your family to attend CFNI.

We are delighted to have your child as a part of our Preschool family. It is a joy to partner with you in the care and training of your child as we walk together in the way of the Lord.

This handbook has been designed to help you become better acquainted with the Preschool program. It is important that you read and understand every word, as these guidelines have been established for the safety and well-being of your child.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your child’s teacher or the Preschool Director.

In His Love,

The Preschool Staff

Mission StatementCFN Preschool provides a safe, nurturing environment where loving and anointed teachers creatively communicate Biblical truths and lay a strong academic foundation for the children of students and staff.

Our desire is to help young children become immersed in the awesome power and ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Give thanks to the Lord, call on His Name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His Name is exalted.Isaiah 12:4

OverviewEach child is viewed as an individual with his/her own spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical needs. If children are secure and at ease in their environment, they will move on eagerly into full-time education with a good attitude toward learning about God and academics. A good Preschool education is the foundation upon which a child’s lifetime of learning is based.

It is important to stress that Preschool children progress at their own speed. The staff is here to teach and encourage, offering educational experiences which give children satisfaction and further their desire to discover more.

While you are in your classes, the children in our Preschool experience a similar environment of praise and worship, Bible study, and scripture memory.

We also offer a wide variety of academics and play activities which encourage each child’s development and prepare him/her for the acquisition of new skills later on.

Dropping Off/Picking Up Children

When dropping off your child in the mornings, we encourage you to arrive on time so that he/she does not miss any important activities or lessons. You must walk your child to the door of his/her classroom. For their safety, children may not be left in the hallway or at the glass entrance doors.

Your child must be picked up within 15 minutes of the scheduled end of class. A late fee of $5 for each 10 minutes will be charged for each child who is left after that time.

You are the only one who may pick up your child from the Preschool, unless you have given permission for a relative or friend to do so. A form will be sent home at the beginning of each semester enabling you to provide the teachers with the contact information of these relatives or friends.

SuppliesYou will receive a supply list at the beginning of each semester. Please label the bag in which you bring all the supplies with your child’s name. You will also need to supply a change of clothes in case of spills or accidents. In that case, the soiled clothes will be sent home in a bag and you will need to send a fresh set the next day.

Health GuidelinesEvery effort is made to maintain a healthy environment for the children and their teachers. Frequent hand washing, table and toy disinfecting, and other sanitation procedures are only effective if you, the parent, strictly adhere to the following guidelines. If your child has any of the following symptoms, he/she will not be admitted to the Preschool:

If your child develops any of these symptoms during school hours, you will be called to take him/her home. If your child has contracted something contagious, you must have a note from a doctor clearing him/her to return. Please notify your child’s teacher or the Preschool Director if he/she has contracted something contagious so that we can notify parents of symptoms to look for in their own children and prevent future outbreaks.

1 | A fever of 100 degrees F or higher. The child must be without fever for 24 hours before they may return.

2 | Unexplainable or contagious rash

3 | Vomiting – the child must not have vomited for 24 hours

Proper AttirePlease remember that we go outside as the weather permits and we sometimes do messy art projects. It is advisable for your child to be dressed in ‘play clothes’. Also, please do not send him/her in loose sandals or ‘flip flops’. Small children tend to trip as they run on the playground while wearing these.

Please send a coat with your child’s name on it every day during cold weather.

Personal ItemsSmall back packs or lunch bags are allowed at school. Please make sure your child’s name is on it.

Any personal toys brought to class will be placed on a shelf and only returned as the child is being released to go home, unless specifically requested by the teacher.

CommunicationIf you have a change in your regular schedule, you must notify your child’s teacher. In case of an emergency, we need to know where to contact you at all times.

We want to keep the communication lines open. If you have a question or concern, we will be happy to discuss it with you.

Feel free to call our Preschool office at 214-302-6291.
