Preparing Images Louise Maher

In order to edit the image I used for my front cover I used the editing software Photoshop. Firstly I used the auto tone setting in order to make my image look a lot less blurry and more clear, I did this by going into Image -Auto tone

Before Editing:

I then increased the vibrancy of both the eyes and lips in order to make them stand out more, I did this by using the polygonal lasso tool, selecting around both the eyes and lips and then going into image – adjustments – vibrancy and increasing the vibrancy to 100%.

I then decided that I wasn’t so keen on the image in colour therefore I used a black and white filter by going into image – adjustments – black and white.

And finally I slightly decreased the offset exposure in order to make the black within the image stand out a little bit more, I did this by going into image – adjustments – exposure and then decreased the offset setting.
